On one hand, ponies are the bizarre lovechild of Orks (cutie marks, having authority makes you bigger for no reason) and the Tau (attempting peace by means other than genocide of everyone else, concerningly in favor of mind control). With Sunset unaware that her magic was surging out of control while she was cleaning her apartment, it's a good thing she can't read the mind of fungi (for example, the mildew in her shower).
In Sunset's defense, no one would have expected Twilight Sparkle to do something so forward. The fact that Twilight followed through with that plan indicates some strong motivation.
Speaking of motivation, maybe these two should make it official before the robotics expert who knows Sunset's exact measurements starts building something.
