You could had just said that it was in the same size as an Ursa Major (big mama of the Minor from same episode).

i also don't get how more people don't do gaismagorm fics, it is one of like 2 elders that is calamity level and isn't a black dragon (prob due to it being first discovered during the events of the game) and shares a decent bit of similarities with species like the shagaru/gore magala's (do not read the bit to the right if you don't want spoilers for wilds) (how did one end up in wilds? we know where the molting ground for gores are and it's all the way across the planet in the old world. and that 1 gore caused so much issues cause the entire plot is centred around "oh why are the guardian monsters here suddenly going rabbid" and it's because 1 gore magala accidentally ended up in the region). keep up the good work

Most of the comedy (or at least my attempts at it) were Gaismagorm’s witty commentary’s and how unserious he was about the whole thing
Then thing is that his parts of the chapter aren’t very long so most of the chapter goes for the MLP side that focuses on the repercussions of Gaismagorm actually reaching the surface
and you haven’t seen a thing about the apocalypse, compared to what’s about to come to all living things in Equestria

I think the peoples usual disinterest in Gaismagorm for fics is because Gaismagorm shares a lot of similarities with Gore magala but the later is chosen because he’s a dark dragon with a cape! He’s a dragon that is just super cool and gives rival vibes. Gaismagorm meanwhile is more of a “cool” but in the way a boss fight is, you’ll want to fight it (and maybe play as it) but it doesn’t give protagonist vibes
So people go to the monster that does give protagonist vibes. also because Gore magala is smaller, faster, can fly, his plague is a virus and not actual animals so it’s much easier to control to not cause a crisis on accident, and he can fold back his arms so he isn’t always awkwardly on a power stance
Gore/shagaru magala is just Gaismagorm but easier to write as a protagonist

in theory, if you think about it, only Discord can turn the hopelessness of a situation into a happy ending.
he can hardly die from sucking blood. The series literally showed us that he doesn't care even about the complete disintegration of the entire body. He just continued to cast spells and pester Starlight in the form of a ghost.
although I have a feeling that in this story the character who is able to solve all problems with a click greatly interferes with the development of the plot and most likely just hasn’t become friends with Fluttershy yet and is still imprisoned in stone.

Only a reality warper like him would be able to make a stable environment for an elder dragon like Gaismagorm. That’s why the story starts a couple of episodes (right after magic duel but before the following ones) before Discord gets freed from stone, since like I said in the previous notes, he can snap his fingers and make enough food for Gaismagorm and the Qurio. And being Most likely being able to fix all the damage caused by the Qurio and Gaismagorm
