Gaismagorm saw a pack of strange horned creatures, kind of resembling furry rhinoceroses with bull horns on top of their rhinoceros horns.
However, the more the merrier, and he had probably already destroyed the ecosystem with his sole presence. So he freed the Qurio. Four of the strange horned creatures reacted and ran away; the rest of the creatures didn’t have much of a reaction until the Qurio flew in and put them down.
A couple of them ran in fear, but he used some of the energy the Qurio had collected for him and shot himself forward, grabbing the two animals with his hands. He raised them into the air, and the Qurio covered them in seconds.
The Qurio quickly absorbed every drop of blood inside of them. Gaismagorm then threw the dried-up corpses he was holding away, opened his maw, and started inhaling until all the Qurio got absorbed by him.
Unbeknownst to him, he was being spied on by the four who escaped. The creatures dropped their costumes, revealing their bug-like appearance.
“Did that thing just steal our prey?!” shouted the changeling as his partners stood there, looking at him.
“Calm down, we can always go look for more—” but he was interrupted by the angry changeling.
“I DON'T CARE if we can search for more! The food in this place is not only lacking, but we haven’t heard anything from Chrysalis and most of the hive after the MASSIVE fiasco at Canterlot! We are starving,” said the angry changeling.
“We are always starving,” said another changeling.
“MORE THAN USUAL!!!” shouted the angry changeling before glaring at Gaismagorm.
“Killing that thing won’t get us the food back,” said another changeling.
“Look, I just want to take my frustration out on this thing, so either leave or so help me!” said the angry changeling.
The other three looked at each other before shrugging and following the angry changeling, who made a quick plan.
Gaismagorm, meanwhile, was playing with the rocks before yawning and throwing the rocks into the horizon, accidentally knocking over another pillar of rock.
“Oops,” said Gaismagorm.
Then the elder dragon saw something behind the knocked-down pillar. It was a snake-like creature, different than the one he saw before, since this one had legs. For all honesty, it looked more like a sea snake than a normal snake, but he didn’t care.
The “sea snake” roared at him, and Gaismagorm wasn’t fazed by it.
Gaismagorm started to march away until the sea snake threw a rock at him. It didn’t hurt, but it really pissed him off. Gaismagorm roared and started giving chase.
The snake delicately dodged the rocks in its path while Gaismagorm broke through them, roaring in anger.
Gaismagorm tried to attack it from the left in an attempt to corner the sea snake, not knowing that getting cornered was exactly what the snake wanted.
The snake ran into a corner of the valley, which Gaismagorm barely could fit into. The elder dragon roared, opening his jaw, but before he could do anything, the sea snake became a small black bug that flew away.
“What?!” asked Gaismagorm as he looked up, seeing several giant boulders falling on him with the intent of killing him.
“Die, you miserable bastard!” said the angry changeling as the others celebrated behind him.
Of course, Gaismagorm couldn’t hear them, but it was better that way since he would have gone from royally pissed off to absolutely livid.
Gaismagorm got out of the rocks and quickly climbed the closed ravine he was in. The elder dragon surprised the changelings and actually crushed one with his hand.
The other three flew away, scared of the monster, but running wouldn’t help since Gaismagorm quickly followed, roaring in rage.
Gaismagorm followed the changelings for hours until they arrived at a giant black mountain—the changeling hive.
Celestia took a deep breath as she and her sister, with the Main Six in tow, went to the Everfree Forest.
The path was a lot more unnerving than they first expected. Ignoring the vines, the entire forest was drained of life in a literal sense since there were corpses all over it.
Hydras, manticores, cockatrices, and all monsters made of flesh were dead along the way to the castle.
The only things remaining were the magic monsters like the Timberwolves, who were covered in scratches and bites from monsters under the effect of the Qurio.
Then they heard the sound of someone walking behind them.
“Halt! Abruptly cease your stride,
A warning we can't deride.
The forest ahead, a sorry mess,
With gaping holes, it can't impress,” said Zecora as she rubbed her head.
“Zecora!” said the Main Six while the princesses stood there, not knowing who she was.
“Oh, Your Majesties, this is Zecora. She lived in the Everfree Forest and… we were so focused with the earthquakes, chimeras, and vines that we forgot to check on her,” said Twilight.
“It is a pleasure meeting you,” said Luna.
“I agree,” said Celestia.
“The pleasure is mine, even if the situation isn’t fine,” said Zecora as she pulled out a jar that contained the remains of a Qurio.
“Since those flying leeches arrived without a cue,
The forest has become a chaotic zoo.
Searching to infect animals who bleed,
A constant hum of screeches at frantic speed,” rhymed Zecora.
“That’s why we are here. They are called Qurio, and we are trying to find the one leading them,” said Twilight.
“We think their boss is the one causing all the earthquakes and vines. Would you happen to know where it might have gone?” asked Applejack.
“The ground did shake, a day has passed,
The quake's sharp jolt, a shadow amassed.
Then came the Qurio, strange and grim,
Draining all life, the forest grew dim,” said Zecora as she turned to look at the little horizon visible between the vines.
“An explosion it was, a sonic boom,
From where the vines emerged from gloom,” said Zecora as she pointed at a specific direction.
“So go that way and maybe find the one behind this?” asked Rainbow.
“Yes,” said Zecora dryly.
“Alright, let’s get this over with. Thanks for the help, darling,” said Rarity as the group started to walk in the direction she told them.
“The world is fast, a hurried pace,
A constant chase in every place.
So in this rush, I ask of you,
Please take care, in all you do,” rhymed Zecora as she waved at them.
And surely enough, she was right. The road ahead was dangerous, as every step they made felt like the ground was about to collapse beneath them.
However, their wariness turned to terror when they saw what had happened to the old castle.
It had been swallowed by a giant hole that led directly to an underground tunnel. It seemed Gaismagorm knew about the Tree of Harmony.
The eight of them flew down, with the Elements protecting them, and between the rubble, they saw the Tree of Harmony in pieces.
“This isn’t good,” said Celestia as she grabbed the pieces of the tree with magic.
“Who would shatter so many gems? And why?!” asked Rarity.
“This isn’t just any jewelry; this is… or was, the Tree of Harmony. The source of the Elements of Harmony and probably the thing keeping those vines in place,” said Celestia, noticing the vines not approaching the fragments of the tree like they did the Elements.
“Then probably Gaismagorm destroyed the castle and tree, not only to unleash the vines to attack Ponyville indirectly but also to act as a distraction for both the Qurio attacking the Everfree and for us to be too busy to follow him through his tunnel,” Pinkie analyzed as she eyed the destruction before adding, “That, or he’s just very clumsy.”
“I’ll think it’s the former…” said Celestia as she took a small pause.
She didn’t know why, but she felt a weight on her chest, specifically near her collar.
“…We have to take the fragments to a safe place. We’ll send some guards to see what’s at the end of the tunnel. Meanwhile, we’ll go to the surface…” Celestia stopped again to take a deep breath.
It weirded out Luna and Twilight a bit since she didn’t usually stop mid-sentence, but they thought it might have been the stress.
“…and find a way to stop the vines. Gaismagorm and his Qurio might be the priority, but we can’t leave the vines unattended. And as the Elements of Harmony, I think the six of you might be the best to do this,” said Celestia, taking one last, more subtle deep breath.
The Main Six nodded as they got out of the hole.
Meanwhile, Celestia kept feeling that weight on her chest, but she dismissed it as a new sensation was creeping upon her…
Hunger.

Im glad you did the dream sequence like that, even when I'm lucid my dreams make less sense than what you wrote!
You did good, waiting for more.
I think this story needs to have its "comedy" tag removed. The apocalypse and hopelessness literally begin here and I still haven't seen any funny moments in the story.
P.S. Apparently "Press F civilization of changelings"
peak stuff, am interested in it
i also don't get how more people don't do gaismagorm fics, it is one of like 2 elders that is calamity level and isn't a black dragon (prob due to it being first discovered during the events of the game) and shares a decent bit of similarities with species like the shagaru/gore magala's (do not read the bit to the right if you don't want spoilers for wilds) (how did one end up in wilds? we know where the molting ground for gores are and it's all the way across the planet in the old world. and that 1 gore caused so much issues cause the entire plot is centred around "oh why are the guardian monsters here suddenly going rabbid" and it's because 1 gore magala accidentally ended up in the region). keep up the good work

Thank you, I really wanted to emphasize how alien Gaismagorm (and his human mind) are to the mlp world, so I gave them something not common in mlp
Realistic dreams

Most of the comedy (or at least my attempts at it) were Gaismagorm’s witty commentary’s and how unserious he was about the whole thing
Then thing is that his parts of the chapter aren’t very long so most of the chapter goes for the MLP side that focuses on the repercussions of Gaismagorm actually reaching the surface
and you haven’t seen a thing about the apocalypse, compared to what’s about to come to all living things in Equestria

although I haven't seen anything about the real apocalypse yet, it's hard not to notice what everything is leading to.

Thanks
I think the peoples usual disinterest in Gaismagorm for fics is because Gaismagorm shares a lot of similarities with Gore magala but the later is chosen because he’s a dark dragon with a cape! He’s a dragon that is just super cool and gives rival vibes. Gaismagorm meanwhile is more of a “cool” but in the way a boss fight is, you’ll want to fight it (and maybe play as it) but it doesn’t give protagonist vibes
So people go to the monster that does give protagonist vibes. also because Gore magala is smaller, faster, can fly, his plague is a virus and not actual animals so it’s much easier to control to not cause a crisis on accident, and he can fold back his arms so he isn’t always awkwardly on a power stance
Gore/shagaru magala is just Gaismagorm but easier to write as a protagonist
