Honestly, great fucking job with this story. Perfect length, doesn't overstay its welcome with what it is doing and accomplishes the tone perfectly. I'll say that it is one of my favorites from ya, totally not also saying this cuz I'm pan and have felt every inch of the mood in this story.

But nah, I say it because you did a great job characterizing the emotions and dissonance of actions with Diamond. It's hard as fuck to grow up knowing you're queer but living in a situation where you can't express it at all without risking your own safety. The time spent suffering, yearning, agonizing over every little detail to make yourself not present as what you know you are. Even if you don't know how to write a lesbian character, you surely know how to write a queer character, better than most authors I've read.

There are a lot of things Diamond Tiara is, and a lot of things she isn't. One of the latter just unexpectedly drifted into her life again. She'd much prefer if it hadn't. [T-2nd Place in the 2019 EFNW Iron Author competition]Oh my god. Ice, this is some of the best characterization I've seen, period. The little details that make this feel so real, the way it ties in to other parts of the story via Sunset. How you mention Diamond's mom hating the cmc as an explanation for why eqg Diamond bullies them. You've managed to fit an entire novels worth of a story in little more than a thousand words. I am envious of your abilities.
