Alphabittle never gave up hope that his lost daughter would come home one day.
His friends and family didn't agree, though they all felt sorry for the grieving father in denial.
Now more than a decade later, he takes Misty to her own grave.

Knocking your own grave must be weird
Also where did þe 1089-1094 date come from? Curious
One of those goods ideas I sorta wish I'd also been in a place to have and explore...but didn't. So thank heavens we have other writers picking up the slack on that.

It can be played for comedy, ask Tom Sawyer.
But the pathos here works just as well or better.

Totally fabricated. I tried to find if there was any form of calendar or dates in G5 canon but there was just nothing at all. So I filled in more or less a random set of dates. (I tried the cover without dates but it looked weird and too sparse.)

Yeah you cant base it of of Reunification Day eiþer since well. Happend before
I can hardly imagine the feeling of triumph, let alone the other warring feelings.
This is good.

G5 takes place roughly 1000 years after the events of G4. Assuming that the calender was reset with Twilight coming to power, this would produce the indicated years.

Isn’t it just 100-200 years? Where did þe 1000 years come from? Even if what you said is correct, it wouldn’t make sense þat þe ponies would even somewhat remember Twilight unless þey did some weird history rewritting shenanagans.

In one episode of Make your Mark, the character of Elderflower mentions her 'Great Great Great Great Auntie Moon Dancer.' We know ponies can live for a very long time; Granny Smith was well over 100 when she passed, and this would suggest the average pony lifespan is longer than a human (humans, on average, live for 75 years rounding up). Assuming a generation to last about 100 years, about 500-1000 years have passed.

Generations don't work that way. Assuming a reasonable childbearing age of about 30 years, Moondancer's sister begets her child (Moondancer's nephew/niece) at t+30, that child begets a child (Moondancer's grand-nephew/niece) at t+60, that child begets a child (Moondancer's great grand-nephew/niece) at t+90, that child begets a child (Moondancer's great great grand-nephew/niece), that child begets a child (Moondancer's great great great grand-nephew/niece) at t+120, and that child begets Elderflower (Moondancer's great great great great grand-niece) at t+150. Assume Elderflower is about 100 years old as of MYM, and that gets you to t+250, where "t" is Moondancer's sister's birthday.
Not that this actually works. Elderflower implies that she witnessed the events of A Canterlot Wedding, when she really ought to have been born decades later. Either she's a time traveler, or she's passing herself off as a witness to events she only heard about.
Coming at it from another angle, the G5 Bible says Twilight's reign lasted 200 moons—by which it means 200 years (it elsewhere instructs writers to use "moon" to mean "year"). Figuring that ANG/MYM/TYT take place another century or two after the end of Twilight's reign puts them about 300–400 years after FiM.

In the end, I think G5 ultimately just opted to keep the exact time frame nebulous and open to interpretation, partly to keep things simpler and partly because the exact time span ultimately doesn't matter all that much to G5's story, just so long as everybody understands that it was "a long time ago." So really any of these can be good guesses as to just how long it was between "The Last Problem" and "A New Generation." For the fanfic purposes, it comes more down to what you intend to do with that information in the context of what you're writing, and thus the sort of tale you're looking to tell.
Personally, I think the 1000 years between G4 and G5 is perfectly reasonable, for a variety of reasons both big and small, as well as that most things in MLP always seem to be "a thousand years ago," so G5 doing likewise would just be continuing that trend. But whatever it is, I think the most deciding factor in determining it is when, exactly, Twilight's reign came to an end within that stretch of time between G4 and G5, as when that happened affects a fair bit on how much time passed altogether between G4 and G5. So figure that out and that should put you in the right direction to figure out the rest.

I like how I caused a civil argument about time.
12126837
I'll admit I assumed the 'changing shapes' thing was Elderflower getting confused. I also haven't read the universe bible so was unaware of the 200 moons aspect. That helps tremendously.
12127347
Well said.
12127372
I'd describe it as a healthy academic debate about timescales myself.

I þought she had some schiznophrenia also what evrn is þat bible y’all speak of?
This kind of stories are the best because they can realistically fit in canon and only enhance the struggles these characters feel allowing real emotions to show.
Should probably be his head.
This must have been very awkward for Misty and it will take time for her to recover from this.
12129123
Whups, it should be. Thank you, corrected.
