Seven Fates

That girl that writes things you may or may not read. TG stuff, probably. Avatar is of Eventide from my story In Another World with Equestria Girls.

T

It was near the lowest part in Sunset Shimmer's life. After a series of terrible choices, the once and former apprentice of Princess Celestia was little more than a declawed high school bully in the Human Realm. She'd been defeated by Princess Twilight Sparkle at the fall formal, and left to pick up the pieces of her life—with the help of her princess-assigned friends, of course. Unfortunately, the forgiveness of five girls means nothing next to a school full of people she's tormented for years.

After a foolhardy attempt by her former classmates to send Sunset 'home', the former unicorn has found herself stranded in a world she'd only heard tales of when she was a foal. Being transformed into a form capable of using magic once more should have been a blessing, but instead she's little more than an outlaw. Now she's found herself wrapped up in the adventures of the most wanted witch on the Boiling Isles, her adopted demon son, and a strange human girl from another Human Realm as she tries to find out if it's even possible to go back to her world, or barring that, Equestria.

Crossover with the Owl House focusing on a partially redeemed Sunset Shimmer that has been stuck right in the thick of things with the Owl House plot. How bad can one former unicorn screw things up?

The Unicorn of the Boiling Isles is parallel-posted on Archive of Our Own. If you enjoy this story, be sure to drop a comment or kudos over there.

Okay.... okay. Okay. Let's see where this one goes!

Hope you enjoy it. I've been having a blast writing it. Adapting and derailing things thus far has been the highlight of the last week or so for me. Working with a Sunset who hadn't yet had her full Rainbow Rocks redemption arc was too fun an idea to pass up, and I figured if depiction of Sunnybun would have anger issues, the second most likely would be one prior to RR. I'm definitely looking forward to reaching certain events in the show's lore, too. Got a whole bunch of things planned.

Hell of an entrance Sunset
Now to wait for the main cast

Welcome to the Isles Sunset
The price is your sanity
Keep up the amazing work :moustache:

Oh Fates you cheeky gal, how did you know I'd just gotten into The Owl House? Can't wait to see where this goes!

12112548
The answer is that I have special powers that allow me to coincidentally do things that benefit others. Hope you enjoy 'Episode 2' when it gets released later this week.

Once you're done the series, if you end up really enjoying it, you ought to check out the Angel of the Owl House. It's an AU with massively expanded lore and some new twists, surrounding the idea of Luz and Camilla Noceda being angels, with Luz being a magically stunted cherub. It's long as all get-out and I'm not even done yet, but my god is it a good read.

12112559
Yeah I finished the show after a week of binging when i got into it a little over a month ago. Been poring over fan comics and writings on AO3 since then. There are definitely some great AUs out there. My favorites to date are probably Witch Among Humans and The Blight of Bonesborough. I'm a sucker for character redemtions, so I'm really looking forward to seeing Sunset interact with Amity later down the road.
It's honestly criminal how few MLP/TOH crossovers there are, including this one I've only seen a handful on this site.

12112570 I'm partway through the Blight of Bonesborough myself. Wasn't sure which Witch Among Humans one to go for though.

12112573
The Witch Among Humans story I've been reading through is this one. It's loosely based on MoringMark's comics of the AU. Pretty fun read so far.

12112582
I'll have to load that onto my ebook app. Thanks for the recommend.

Ooh - The Owl House is my second favorite show, after MLP of course! Can't wait to find out if Sunset Shimmer will join the Bad Girl Coven!

Ooh, excellent start! I'm hooked. I love TOH & MLP, so I'm excited to see how their intersection changes both.

My Little Pony: Apocalypse Pony! Punish mankind for their sins!

Interesting. It's been a while since I read a relatively serious fic where MLP:FiM characters exist alongside the MLP:FiM TV show - at least one written by someone with your good grammar writing caliber.

I kind of expected Sunset to be more alarmed, or at least curious, about Luz knowing Sunset's life from watching it in a cartoon. I hope Sunset interrogates asks Luz about it soon, because that strikes me as the kind of thing that would be hard to ignore for long. It also introduces all kinds of joke and drama opportunities.

(Edit: On reread, looks like Sunset's strategy is repressing/ignoring it to avoid an existential crisis. That's... actually pretty believable!)

Looking forward to the next chapter!

It's honestly criminal how few MLP/TOH crossovers there are, including this one I've only seen a handful on this site.

Preach!

This seems fun. I'm gonna stick around with this one

A shadow loomed over both of them. Neither wanted to turn to see what it was, but nonetheless turned to see Warden Wrath standing there, one arm still transformed into a blade. “That’s it!” he bellowed, raising the arm as his tattered uniform rustled in the wind. “Killing you both!”

Hey, is that a reference?
This is one Fun Story

Okay you got my attention. Gonna see where this goes.

Interesting crossover. Your prose is actually pretty decent, and everyone seems mostly in-character. I like how you kept Sunset’s fiery temper in. She might be trying to be kinder, but her anger is still something she struggles with. I’m curious to know if we’ll have any scenes back in the EG universe? After that stunt the students pulled, I’d like to see them receive some consequences for their actions. Twilight’s reaction is certainly something I would like to see.

12112945
Ayep. Admittedly, it was just one of those stray thoughts that tickled me too much not to include it. In a chat I was in while writing the scene, someone actually went and referenced another scene. I can't believe every single one of them kicked you in the dick. Luckily, I had enough self-control not to work that reference in.

12112992
Funny enough, that's actually coming in two chapters.

Ri2

You wanna add another tally to her magic cop beatdown, Lilith?

Ri2

I am greatly looking forward to seeing where this goes!

So, is Sunset going to write Celestia anytime soon about finding a way home?

Just started to rewatvh TOH and this fic appears, I'm whit the demon Dana, life it's a simulation

12112994
Look at the stories that i wrote, i have at least one reference per chapter.

Though, i haven't had the motivation the update them in a while…
No, this is not advertising, don't bother reading them if you don't like them, I'm just saying i understand the need to add funny references.
Pained Wheezing

Oo this is certainly very interesting... Cant wait to see how Sunset will change things >:3

Ok. I love this. I need to follow to see where this goes

12112281
KO this story is very good seeing Sunset in the Owl House universe after being kicked out by most of Canterlot High, and she is already making some new friends that could help. I hope the Rainbooms will make their appearance in the Boiling Isles along with Celestia. And hoping that Flash isn’t one of the students that threw her out of their world.

Next came the notes being slipped through the vent in her locker around the time she was released from ISS. Most of them were just repeats of the same sorts of things being written on her locker, but some of them were worse—much worse. There were threats of bodily harm, remarks urging her to go back where she’d come from—a physical impossibility for another 30 moons—and then there were the ones telling her she should end herself.

ISS? :derpyderp2:

“They’ll all work it out of their systems eventually, darling,” was what Rarity told her one day after school. “Eventually they’ll see that you’re trying to change and let up.”

Even so that could take months for all Sunset knows. :unsuresweetie:

Her friends tried their best to cheer her up, but even then, they were working through their own problems. Some of them were people she’d hurt the most the most. Fluttershy had been tormented by her for years. She’d caused Rarity to experience a wardrobe malfunction in front of the entire school at the Spring Fling. Because of a rumour she spread, Rainbow Dash had to undergo rigorous testing to show that she wasn’t using performance enhancing drugs. Pinkie Pie’s school event planning side-hustle almost went under because Sunset had created an email similar to the one she used for it and through clever trickery got every volunteer to contact that one instead. Maybe worse of all, she’d made an absolute liar of Applejack, who’d prided herself on her honesty.

saying 'the most' twice doesn't seem right imo. :applejackconfused: also, the mention of the rumor of Dash doing drugs sounds insane, I'm shocked Sunset did that. :twilightoops:

Then, when she’d been showering at the end of the class, someone had gotten into her locker and taken everything. Sunset’s walk of shame to the principal’s office in nothing but a towel; even if she’d been a pony before coming to this world, and didn’t have the same nudity taboos, she’d been there long enough that it was humiliating. What was worse, her bag had been taken to the office, someone claiming to have found it in one of the bathrooms of all places. While Principal Celestia had assured her she’d look into it, because it was a blatant case of bullying and an attempt at humiliation, it did little to raise her mood.

Holy shit, someone stole her clothes and everything, how cruel!!! :fluttercry:

At lunch, after somebody tripped her and spilled her tray everywhere—a regular occurrence that deprived her of her lunch and wasted the lunch money—she’d been warned by Pinkie Pie that she might want to take anything remotely important to her out of her locker. Some students in Pinkie’s art class were apparently talking about pouring paint through the vents in Sunset’s locker to ruin everything.

As much as I hate what the students are doing to her, I can understand why they're doing it sadly... :pinkiesad2:

“Kill yourself, Shimmer!”

That's too far done! :twilightangry2:

Sunset’s eyes widened when she realised what the sledge was for. She doesn’t seriously think she can force the portal to open up by breaking the mirror, does she? It was a terrifying prospect, as she’d read some of the portal’s extensive documentation before getting caught all those years ago, and how it was made created a very big problem. Breaking it without disenchanting it could cause any number of devastating problems, like tearing open an all-consuming hole in reality, making an opening to the void, causing massive magical backlash, or worse violently exploding with all the energy of the bridge spanning the In Between—a realm outside time and space filled with nothing and everything all at once.

Well shit. :raritydespair:

From the point of impact, a spiderweb of cracks rapidly spread across the mirror. As the damage reached the very edges of the reflective surface, something strange began to happen. Rather than simply shattering and falling to the ground, the shards of glass were pulled into the plinth, revealing what appeared to be a vast space full of iridescent abstract shapes and floating black cubes with little universes inside.

At least there's no tears in reality, right? :trollestia:

Sunset began to struggle and scream as she was dragged closer and closer to the portal. This couldn’t be happening! It just couldn’t! The In Between Realm wasn’t a place meant for mortals! It was the sort of place that would drive anyone insane after only a short time!

Kinda surprised she knows about it tbt, but seeing this is an AU connected to the TOH timeline, I totally get that. :applejackconfused:

There wasn’t any guarantee that any world she emerged in, if that was even possible, would be hers. The very existence of Star Swirl’s mirror proved the multiverse theory, as his notes commented on several other worlds he’d visited in his past—even parallel Equestrias. She might emerge in an Equestria where Nightmare Moon was never defeated, or an Earth where the Germans conquered the world. Hell, she might even end up in a universe occupied by talking amphibians.

Lol on that last one. Totally get the reference despite I didn't see the show in question Amphibia. :rainbowlaugh:

“My cabbages!” came a deep and guttural voice moments before she felt herself hauled up by the front of her shirt. Before she could come to her senses, she found herself floating limply in front of what looked to be some sort of short, piggy-faced humanoid with large tusk-like teeth poking out from his bottom lip. “You’ve ruined my cabbages, witchling!”

Lol on the Avatar TLA reference, that never gets old, same goes for tibbles. That was him, right? :rainbowderp:

She drew a circle in her air in front of her with her index finger. As a circle of bright red light formed in front of her, she bared her teeth and stared into his beady eyes. “I’ve been trying to be a better person, so I’ll ask you nicely to please put me down.”

How am I not surprised she did that. :twilightsheepish:

That was when Sunset slammed her palm through the ring of light she drew. A pillar of rock shot up underneath the pig man, launching him into the air. When he came back down, he landed flat on his butt behind his stand. “That is ‘or what’,” she stated in a flat voice.

Tibbles had it coming, regardless. :rainbowwild:

“Honestly, this place reminds me of Flash’s O&O sourcebooks,” she murmured aloud as she passed in front of a place that called itself the Kitty Café. Reflected in the glass window, she caught sight of herself, which gave her pause. Unlike in the human world, where she had round ears, hers were now long and pointed like the other people around here. Not only that, but it was only now that she noticed a somewhat familiar horn protruding from her forehead, although it looked to be shorter and made of an amber crystalline structure, rather than keratin and alicorn. Additionally, a luxurious tail of red and gold jutted out of the back of her skirt. It wasn’t much, but she definitely felt a bit more like the young mare that fled through Star Swirl’s mirror.

Wow, I was not expecting her to have pointy ears, a her horn, or even a tail again. Still, kinda makes me want to see fan art of it. :rainbowhuh:

But what she really couldn’t wrap her head around was why she’d been transformed like this. The portal’s transformation enchantment shouldn’t have been active, or able to affect her, since she technically never entered an active Star Swirl-Clover bridge. Yet here she was, mostly blending in with all these other demihumans. Was it actually the plinth and the mirror frames that cast the spell on whatever was passing through, triggering whenever it exited the In Between?

You and me both. :fluttershysad:

Only at that threat did she finally turn around to face the speaker. It was a man in a white cloak, dark leathers, and a vaguely avian mask. His cloak was held closed with a golden triangular pin bearing a winged sword. There was a spear in his hand, and he was not alone. There were six similarly equipped figures standing behind him.

Not sure if I should feel nervous or excited knowing hunter appeared sooner than I thought. :pinkiecrazy:

A gout of sunfire—a specially formulated light-imbued fire spell that she made during her tutelage under Princess Celeastia—surged forward from the central spell circle. It flew over the head of the ground-entombed white-cloak. Both the vines and the purple slime golem were caught up in the solar flames and were atomised.

Princess Celestia*

Thanks for pointing out those typos; somehow they escaped my notice despite the several passes made.
ISS stands for In-school suspension. It was a phrase that never applied to me, thankfully, but I'd heard it a few times during High School.
Nope on the Tibbles thing; just some random orc.
Believe it or not, but that wasn't Hunter. It was just a random coven scout squad she went and traumatised. Hopefully not Steve though. Steve's a bro.

As far as art goes, I've half a mind to hack together a vector trace to show off my vision. The last one I threw together for a meme in a discord (Amity Blight Rimuru Tempest cosplay) turned out alright.

It was for that reason that she marched with a contingent of not just members of the Healing Coven, but the Beast Keeping Coven as well. If this was a case involving her sister, as she suspected it was, her curse might be acting up, in which case the beast keepers would be better equipped to subdue the Owl Beast, or at least drive her off. If it wasn’t Edalyn, she was sure she could handle whatever witch or demon it was on her own.

That confirms my question if Eda is in this story or not. :applejackunsure:

At the far end of the alley stood a witch dressed in strange garb. Honestly, it reminded Lilith a lot of the sort of human garbage her sister was regularly seen hawking in the Day Market. Still, the witch was striking in her sleeveless purple top with a bicoloured sun mark, knee-high boots, and her orange skirt decorated with a yellow and magenta stripe. The fiery red and gold locks—which were probably gorgeous on a good day—framing her face were matted with sweat, but did nothing to hide the crystalline horn jutting from the girl’s forehead. Notably, she did not have a coven sigil on her wrist.

Wait, how does Sunset have a coven sigil already!? :twilightoops:

A caw from her feathered companion caught her attention, and she saw him perched atop the horn jutting from the young woman’s forehead. He was bobbing his head, indicating that the girl was incapacitated—probably unconscious, as that looked rather uncomfortable. As Lilith picked her way through the ruined alley, passing the sobbing scout trapped in the ground, Lilith removed her own mask and hung it from a pocket on the inside of her cloak.

I wish I remembered what the name was of her palisman is as it's name has been revealed, I just can't remember. :ajsleepy:

With how the youth’s backpack and clothing didn’t match any of the Boiling Isles’ styles, Lilith worried she might be dealing with someone sympathetic to Edalyn. The variety of magic that had destroyed this alleyway gave some credence to the idea that the girl was a wild witch, and a powerful one at that. She just hoped that, whoever she was, Edalyn didn’t have her hooks in too deep if they did know one another. Problems with authority aside, she definitely had the potential to be a great addition to the Emperor’s Coven.

Lilith is gonna have quite the reaction once she learns Sunset doesn't know or who Eda is. :trollestia:

Not a minute later, a tall, pale woman with long black hair, a white hooded cloak like those goons who were attacking her, and black dress strode in. Her stern green eyes locked with Sunset’s own cyan, and the former unicorn immediately could tell that she was definitely not liked by the witch. “You are in Police Precinct 128, in the city of Bonesborough,” she said in an unamused tone, taking a seat across from Sunset. “I am Lilith Clawthorne, Head Witch of the Emperor’s Coven. What happened was that you resisted arrest for wild magic and in the process injured thirty-eight Coven Scouts and traumatised three more into a state of catatonia.”

Damn... :pinkiegasp:

That being said, Sunset wasn’t about to reveal to this stranger that the book was magically entangled with a separate copy in another dimension. Even if the entanglement did reach across the In Between to Equestria from here, it didn’t seem wise to reveal that fact. In fact, she was disinclined to mention Equestria at all. Until she was sure who she could trust, it would be better to let this woman believe that she was a witch like her, albeit not one raised in this world. Nor would she reveal the mark and recall enchantments.

I'm sure Lilith will believe you Sunset... in time, seeing she's still with the emperors coven. :pinkiesad2:

For the first time, there was a glint of begrudging respect in Lilith’s eyes. That look quickly became almost covetous in nature, as the barest hint of a smile graced her pale face. It immediately put Sunset on edge, and she began to watch for the telltale signs of manipulation. “Well then, Ms. Shimmer, let me be the first to properly welcome you to the Boiling Isles Titan,” she offered. “I am willing to pardon today’s incidents as a massive misunderstanding, but that still leaves us with a problem.”

Gulp. :applecry:

Sunset raised an eyebrow, curious to see where she was going with this. “Let me explain. Covenless witches, especially those who use magic from more than one field, are known as wild witches. When witches are schooled, they are put into one of nine tracks: abomination magic, bardic magic, beast keeping magic, construction magic, healing magic, illusion magic, oracle magic, and plant magic. Normally, they end up joining one of the nine main covens reflecting those tracks, or one of various offshoots, and having all other unaffiliated magics blocked off.” She then rolled up the sleeve of her dress to reveal her right wrist, upon which there was some sort of tattoo that radiated magic, depicting the same emblem as the clasps on the cloaks worn by those scouts. “Then there is the Emperor’s Coven—the elite few sanctioned by Emperor Belos, Voice of the Titan, to use all forms of magic as they keep the peace and enact the will of the Titan.”

Belos, more like baglos. :rainbowwild:

That doesn’t sound right. Magic as I understand it is practically a living force within us all. It’s not meant to be broken up into neat little categories and restricting who can use what kind, unless it’s an especially dangerous form of magic like necromancy, biomancy, or chronomancy. Her eyes narrowed as she thought she saw where this was going. Making sure someone’s elites were the only ones legally or physically capable of using all types of magic was a form of control the likes of which not even the worst dictators in Equestrian History would have attempted.

I'm afraid that ain't the same in the boiling isles after belos took over. :fluttershysad:

There was a moment of silence, and then Lilith shut her eyes. “I see,” she responded, followed by a drawn-out sigh. “That’s a shame. Until you come to see reason, or the Emperor decides what to do with you, I am remanding you to custody at the Conformatorium.”

Crap. :raritydespair:

12113521
Gotcha. P.s., o hope you don't mind the two long comments as I often like to react my thoughts to certain scenes from stories I read here, and since I'm quite a big TOH fan. Which is obvious seeing Luz is in my profile pic. :twilightsheepish:

12113530
... she doesn't have a coven sigil.

Notably, she did not have a coven sigil on her wrist.

As for Lilith's palisman, I don't think there was ever a canon name. There's some joke ones in the fandom, but I'm rather fond of Corvanc, which is from the Angel of the Owl House.

Not sure what I think about this premise for a story. Sure, the writing is on point, everything is well written and fleshed out, but this is making me think about why I liked The Owl House so much to begin with. For me, the key component that made Luz's journey so compelling was her mundanity. The fact that she was, and stayed, a normal human girl is what forced her to adapt, and improvise creative solutions to problems. But now, she's got this ultra strong spellcaster with her who could solve these problems for her, and this becomes less about Luz, and more about Sunset, and the stronger Sunset is, the less compelling the story becomes if it keeps to the tracks of TOH's main plotline.

12113677
It certainly isn't good for Luz's character growth if Sunset 'fixes everything' for her. Despite wanting to look out for her, it's a conclusion that it won't take Sunset too many more chapters to reach herself. Besides, she can't just be at the kid's side 24/7 and she does plan on trying to get home; getting Luz dependent on her power would be setting her up for failure, and possibly dooming the Boiling Isles itself. Instead, she'll be more likely to advocate for Luz' training to start a bit sooner, and possibly provide her with a few more tools to survive.

An Equestria Girl x Owl House Crossover story!? :pinkiegasp: Sign me up! :pinkiehappy:

Poor Sunset. Even though she has wronged others in the past, she doesn't deserve all the abuse from others. I hope that the students who bullied her and sent her to the demon realm are punished for their actions. :twilightangry2: And most importantly, I hope Sunset will see her friends again. :fluttershysad: :ajsleepy:

That being said, it's cool to see Sunset in the demon realm and I'm already hooked on this story! I'm looking forward in finding out what happens next, especially when she eventually meets Luz and the others.

Keep up the good work!

Now that was a fun chapter! :scootangel:

Sunset finally meets the Bad Girl Coven and she is now staying at the Owl House. I can't wait to see what happens next with Sunset!

Amazing crossover so far, can't wait to see where this goes.

Excited to see how Sunset would react to and interact with the likes of Amity and Hunter, given they do fall under a similar story of being troubled teens that go through a redemption arc later like her, plus all three being on LGBT (Sunset's bi, Amity's lesbian, and Hunter's bi).

So, will we get to see scenes of how the Humane 5 and Principal Celestia are doing in the human world and how they're reacting to Sunset's disappearence?

Same for if Sunset will try to use her magic book to contact Pony Twilight or Princess Celestia for help?

So for Sunset's form in the Demon Realm, does this mean her form there is mostly similar to her human form, with the main difference just being the unicorn horn and tail from her pony form? Is there a reason why Sunset has a different form in Demon Realm but not Luz?

And if the Humane 5 went to Demon Realm, would they be in a similar boat to Sunset of having their human forms in a hybrid with pony features with all five having their pony tails, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy having wings, and Rarity having a horn like Sunset?

12113849
In my head, at least, Sunset's transformation was triggered by the lingering transformation enchantment from the original portal that was smashed, whereas Luz merely entered the Boiling Isles through the portal door in Eda's possession, which really doesn't seem to care what you are or where you come from. Her skin is a little less orange, but you're otherwise right on the money, her having a horn and a pony's tail, with the pointed ears of a witch. As for the Humane 5, it would all depend on whether they get their hands on a portal akin to the mirror, or more like Eda's door.

There will be 'meanwhile in Equestria/the Human Realm tied to Equestria' sorts of asides in upcoming chapters.

I am already really liking what has been written so far. I really like the premise of an owl house - EQG crossover. The possibilities for this are myriad and all enticing.

First, there was a lady by the name of Katya three cells down from Sunset’s. Dark of skin and black of hair, she was being detained for writing fanfiction of all things. Now, writing fanfiction wasn’t necessarily weird or a crime on its own, but what made her stand out as abnormal to the powers that be was the subject matter. She wrote about food falling in love. That was it; that’s why she was in jail.

If this happened irl, being behind bars is the last place someone like her should be. :ajbemused:

The next unfortunate weirdo, in the cell to the right of Katya’s, to be imprisoned in their section was a green bipedal demon that reminded her a bit of the orc vendor she encountered. The only difference between him and the orc, however, was the fact that this guy had five eye sockets on his head and no tusks. It was readily apparent why he was here when she was brought in, as he removed one of his own eyes, popped it into his mouth, and ate it as she passed. It didn’t matter if it immediately grew back; it was super messed up and gross, and she’d have lost her lunch if she’d eaten anything that day.

I'd feel the same if I was in Sunset's shoes. :pinkiesick:

Surprisingly, the Coven Guards—creatures clad in different masks and uniforms than the Coven Scouts, and likely recruited for their bulk—that brought her to her cell let her keep her jacket. That meant they’d also left her with her phone, not that it was of much use here. They didn’t even make her keep wearing the magic suppressing manacles she’d been forced to wear for her entire ride to the prison. There was even some food given to her, horrifying as it was. Eggs that looked like eyes that stared at her— Eyeggs? —and seemingly normal toast.

Though I think it's obvious they took her backpack and all it's content with them. :fluttercry:

No meal came the next morning, and she’d shut her phone off to conserve battery power. It was a good opportunity to do a self-diagnostic spell, but the results left her with a bit of confusion. Aside from the pointy ears, her unicorn horn, and her tail, she was indistinguishable from a human from an outside perspective. Internally, however, there was an oddity. Attached to her heart was an extra organ... Some kind of sac full of magically volatile secretions.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised on that last part. :trollestia:

Part of Sunset wanted to object to that on principle. Putting aside the megalomania she’d been purged of, an underdeveloped ability to make friends, and the fact that she was a unicorn from another dimension, she didn’t really see herself as weird. An oddity, sure, but weird was a bit of a stretch... right?

Just go with it. :duck:

After the warden was gone, the human girl slipped out of the cell next to Sunset’s, having ducked into the empty one to hide from the warden. “Don’t worry!” she whispered as she made her way over to the lever to open Katya’s cell. “I can get you out!” Unfortunately, she was skinny and had arms like twigs, and failed miserably to lift the lever. “No! My weak nerd arms!”

Even two years after I got into toh (I got into the show just a month after for the future came out) I still find that line on Luz saying weak nerd arms downright hilarious!!! :rainbowlaugh:

At the same time, though, she’d already seen firsthand how dangerous this place could be. If Luz had no magic of her own, she’d be ill prepared to defend herself—especially if the stories the princess told her were correct and the rain was literally boiling. Besides, she didn’t have to try and get Sunset and the others out; that spoke well of her character.

Luz can be a lot more different than you might know it Sunset. :ajsmug:

“Magic crown, huh?” King asked, looking up at Luz with interest. “Well, at least she has good taste.”

You wouldn't want to wear the crown Sunset wore King. :fluttershysad:

That made Sunset frown. So you were watching the whole time, and didn’t think to lend a helping hand, she thought bitterly at her. What, not keen on getting your bounty raised any higher?

That or Eda didn't want to see Lilith. :twilightsheepish:

After taking a moment to mentally review how the dimensional storage spell worked, she drew a spell circle and poofed her bag away. Eventually, Luz stepped out of the barrier holding what appeared to be a paper crown from Burger Queen—a restaurant chain their two human worlds seemed to share. The look of sheer frustration and disbelief on her face would almost have been funny, but for the fact that this was all just a bit anticlimactic.

Weird how didn't just out it on her back. :unsuresweetie:

Luz gave a dry heave, and then remarked, “I hate everything you’re saying right now.”

That makes two of us. :twilightoops:

A tiny ball of fire formed at her fingertip, slowly going from a warm red to a blue-hot flame. When she breathed out, she willed the fireball to shoot forth like a bullet, and it was like a bomb had gone off. The sudden thermal expansion created a pressure wave that knocked the guards and prisoners flat, even as the tiny fire bullet of doom roared through the air before towards the tower. Even Sunset was not spared the recoil, having blown herself directly into the outer wall.

Damn! :pinkiegasp:

Before he could smite them both, Katya and the other two creatures slammed into him from behind, and even Luz swooped in behind them, riding ato Eda’s owl staff. All of them began hitting and kicking him, before finally his arms basically turned into limp spaghetti, with which they were able to tie him up. When he was thoroughly embarrassed and defeated, he stared up at Luz. “Who do you think you are!?” Flames began to flicker in his mouth as he prepared another fire attack.

Pouting, Luz said, “Maybe that's because they haven't tried.” Out of some misguided attempt to sweeten the pot, clearly not realising how easily such a statement could be abused, she then offered, “If you teach me to become a witch, I'll do anything you want.”

I think it's supposed to say sweeten the plot. :applejackconfused:

When all was said and done, and Eda sent the kids off to bed, she took a seat beside Sunset once more. “I suppose given you’re probably about to get your own massive bounty, you need somewhere to hide, huh?” she remarked. “I’ve got some extra space in the basement, but what do you bring to the table?”

I hope Eda tells Luz that Sunset is sleeping in the basement seeing she doesn't find out the owl house has one til season 2 when she confesses her feelings to Amity. :twistnerd:

I sure can't wait for th next chapter. I'll be waiting!!! :pinkiehappy: But the only question I have so far is the tag on twilight added to the story. But the only question I have so far is the tag on Twilight added to the story. :derpyderp2:

Since when were you a fan of owl House? I've seen your posts and you've talked about it maybe once in one of your stories? :unsuresweetie:

You seriously better not let this brilliant thing die! This is absolutely amazing! Also a suggestion for a job for Sunset which would allow her to stay close to Luz. Have her get a job at Hex Side.

*riding atop Eda's owl staff, actually

As for the Twilight tag, it's because she's going to be the one she's most regularly in touch with Sunny and will be getting her own interlude scenes the most. While we get to see the CHS 5 + Principal C interact with some nuisances in Chapter 4/Episode 3, they don't play too big a role until 'Season 2'.

Any plans on making her continue the study of magic, including "the forbidden" magic?

Heh, she may be alone, but the silver lining is, she is the most harmonious pony on the isles. Heck, she basically is the Harmony's representative there :v

I've been the fan of the show since the first episode aired. And I referenced the show a couple of times in my stories.
