Princess Twilight Sparkle, in light of her recent ascension, has moved to Canterlot to formally take up her mantle as monarch. Unfortunately, she had to leave many cherished things behind in Ponyville– her school, her former student, and her best friends in the whole world.
In Twilight's absence, Starlight has grown distant from the others, and interacting with them in the course of her duties as Headmare has been awkward.
Still, that won't stop the mare from trying to live up to Twilight's ideals.
The plan for this fic is a series of loosely connected one-shots examining Starlight's relationships with the other Mane 6 after Twilight moves to Canterlot.
They'll be completed as I come up with ideas for them, so no guarantees. Treat this like a sketchbook more than a story.

Wow, this is incredible! I'll be honest, i'd never thought about what Starlight Glimmer meant to rest of the Mane 6 and vice versa. Starlight was Twilight's friend/pupil, and the mane 6 was a literally-legendary friend group, but very little chemistry existed between her and them that wasn't focused around Twilight. I can't wait to explore that dynamic one character at a time, especially at this quality!
I can’t wait to read the rest of your “sketches” here because it genuinely is one of FiM’s biggest faults that they never committed to integrating Starlight with the other mane characters, there was so much to explore there that never was. Very excited to read more from your excellent scribbling.
I did want to point out though that technically Starlight was also inducted into Twilight’s council of Friendship, she was there with the others and spoke when Twilight declared it, and was not excluded from her words or the celebrations, just absent from the one meeting we see in TLP. That just makes things even more awkward
There’s also actually a really cool detail in Uncommon Bond where Starlight Applebucks a tree pretty well, causing some apples to fall on Trixie, which implies she learned the technique sometime prior from Applejack offscreen, something we could have really used as an episode, like this one

I just assumed her absence in the end sequence of TLP meant she wasn't technically part of the council to be honest, it makes sense to me for it to include only Twilight's Elements specifically.
The point about her actually bucking pretty well is a good one I'd totally forgotten! The truth is I'm just a sucker for unicorns being weak little twigs compared to any given earth pony, and I think the magic vs manual labor dynamic is especially relevant for interactions with AJ, so that's the angle I committed to.
I'm glad you're looking forward to more, next up should be Pinkie Pie, she's my weakest M6 I think, so I want to try and do her justice.

. As Starlight is one of my top-favorite characters, I often find myself wondering how she interacts with the other Mane-6. It's never shown in the series. You've done a pretty good job with her interacting with Applejack here. I've read all of your other stories which all revolve around Starlight, at least three of which I didn't even realized were yours. Now, you can count me as the #1 Fan of your stories

I'm glad you've enjoyed my work so much, it means a lot to hear. It's funny because I watched S1-3 back in the day but fell out of MLP, only got around to watching the rest of it this past year (we only finished the finale on New Years). I barely even knew Starlight existed and she instantly became my favorite the moment she entered the show. I just wanna put her in situations.
