At Camp Everfree, one of Sunset Shimmer's first experiences with her geode and her powers of empathy was to delve into Pinkie Pie's mind. Rather than just memories there, she found Pinkie's own unique mental world - a place of candy and fun and music and joy. An escape away from pain, away from worry, away from the troubles of reality.
And if that isn't a tempting thing on a bad day, I don't know what is.

wtf what a great story idea
And imho about the end? You stuck that landing 😱
This is also one of those stories that when I personally read it, makes me start thinking about how to write an 'as inspired by' story.
When the story affects me enough that I almost forget to click the 'like' button.
Oof. Good stuff. Love the repetition.

I almost held off posting this until next week because I saw yours and my brain went "I dunno, do I really want Sunset to be this sad today?"
You don't see authors inventing a whole new kind of abuse every day, damn. Reminds me of those plots where a character is trapped in their ideal fantasy and has to fight to break out. Except in this case Sunset fails miserably.
Love the reoccurring bits, feels very visual, like a montage leitmotif
Sugar
Oh, honey, honey
You are my candy girl
And you got me wanting you
Before LoE, I kinda imagined that Pinkie's inner mind is actually really calm and chill, so that's how she can be so manic and hyperactive all the time
Or maybe it looked like Patrick's dream from that one episode, just a void with her forever riding on a kiddie ride
Or maybe even how Beatles's house in Yellow Submarine went, just quiet and eerie, until some random crazy shit would pop out from door to door
This feel's like a acid trip mixed with tons of sugar.
Howdy, hi, its DaOtterGuy~!
Loved this. Love that the ending doesnt make all this fixed with a quick chat and some heartfelt emotions. She's addicted and its gonna take a while to get through it, especially cold turkey. The character work is stellar and the small changes between recurring textual theme was fantastic. Perfect build up and pay off with the ending. Banger read. Thanks for this!
That's messed up.
OUCH 🤕😨 that...damn.
ThanePinkie Pie is a hell of a drug.
