The “friends along the way” would fit in with the themes of the show at least. I wouldn’t really mind if that did happen. I’m not really a big fan of fanfics where it’s too much like an isekai where the main character uses his epic gamer skills to become all powerful and get the girl. I would rather it be more comedic and him making friends with the characters. That’s just my opinion though. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Anyways, great fanfic! I can’t wait till the next chapter!

Computers kind-of do and kind-of don't run on quartz. Oscillators are what make computers work, and anything could be an oscillator. If you changed the wiring in your computer so instead of a crystal oscillator, it went through a switch that you very rapidly flick back and forth, you would have a working computer (albeit a much slower one).
The reason crystal oscillators are used so ubiquitously (unless you're apple lmao) is because quartz tastes the best.

Dunno why but a small bit of a song was stuck in my head while reading this.
How on pony earth did this guy spent an entire week without ever noticing the colour of fur on his own forelimbs?? That's a bit weird, but otherwise it's a rock solid start for this type of story overall. Great cover image, too.
I mean, any sort of writing whatsoever would be incredibly conspicuous by itself. At least, in the show ponies have different writing systems, that could've made a reasonable excuse here. And Cloudy does wear reading glasses from what I remember, so her vision might not be that good, and that would make sense at that particular moment. But then, the notes are still there on the floor, and they're brought up later, at least the drawings on them.
