Blaise and Cyrus Peregrine seek to solve the mystery of the Mayan temple named for the horse - an animal that was unknown in the Americas until Europeans brought them over long after the Mayan civilization fell. They find a lot more than they bargained for and become entangled in the new worlds they discovered.
You have captured my attention quite thoroughly, my fine author. Take a like and a tracking on this new venture for your efforts. Excited and very much interested in how things go from here, although I'll keep my thoughts to my chest for the moment. Wouldn't want to give you any dangerous ideas, now, would I?
Hope progress with this new adventure is smooth and fulfilling,
Shadow Quill, Messenger of the Moon.
Very intresting, the humans breaking their side of things to stop Equestrian access. but what did the ponies use if the humans used blood. Apple juice?
Well, looks promising! Looking forward for more! Your stories are always a treat : )
Interesting. I will wait for the continuation along with the development of events.
Ok this was a wonderful new start for a story.
This is a great setup, I can't wait to see what happens!
impressed whistle
Two new ponies meeting up with Daring Do in a strange ancient temple. No, nothing special happening here. Move along...
I'll be waiting for the next chapter, Goldfur!
Been a while sense I read a story of yours, interesting start, I wonder where this could lead to.
Interesting start. Can’t wait to see where it goes.
So... dual gender flips? Huh!
Nice to see it beyond just stallion to mare for once.
Aww, no gryph tits

Now I have this idea how ponies wanted to set the portal in Europe, but when they poked their muzzle through to see some sod raving about Gnosis and needing to escape Yalbadadoth, they figured that Mayan blood letters were more of a brand of crazy they could handle in case of a breech
Can't wait to see where this story goes!
Normally like your stories bit hard no on this one. No reason for them to change genders
I'm liking this story a lot. Can't wait to see what they all find in the temple on this side.
Good take on the language (non)issue. Something I would not have thought of.
Sooo, do Prench still speak Prench and hear Equestrians speaking Prench with their own posh Canterlotian accent? What about written languages? Such a neat concept : )

What do you mean no reasons? Most things happening in fiction happened for no reasons, because they are tools to direct the narrative, explore themes, or simply they seem without "reasons" because we didn't get the why yet.
Of course you're free to not like story revolving around gender bending, everyone have their tastes. You just can't "objectively" says something has "no reasons" to exist in a fiction with such limited argumentation
12047830
I just see no reason to change their genders, species is enough
12047840
It is probably just another difficulty for them to overcome or maybe there’s some character history?
oh, that reminds me of a silly fan-comic where Trixie met another pony who does that...
her friends though it was hilarious!
12048020
That would be fun to read. Does anyone remember where to find it?
I won't say much and will only say that this is a good chapter.
12048045
i saw it on DeviantArt, it's part of a series called "friendship is tragic".
Eu espero que não aconteça futuramente o que todo mundo pensou nesse capítulo maior problema vai ser só a imaginação
It's sad that even in another world and a different gender Blaise can't escape sexual harassment.
Need a capital "D" here.
Thanks for the chapter.
12048285
Fixed, thanks!
Interesting so far. I’m curious on why they swapped genders. Usually not into gender swapping but I like everything else enough that I’m willing to wait for an explanation.
Until then have a good day
12048293
Alright. Neat. Maybe Daring can get another capital "D" later, eigh? Eigh? KnowwhatImean, eigh? I'll show myself out.

It's Bernard Doover. Par for the course at this point l, sun rise sunset and all that.

Post note: I misinterpreted what I readinto it, but keeping this as since I do think such things, even in the realms of fiction, warrants such thought.
How the fuck does that work?
That's literally my first reaction to that. Sure, a spell, and we do have a similar concept with latin, but I'm having a hard time imagining such an imposition. Granted English here has become the de facto language, but that's largely to various dominating culture, and even now many people know multiple languages and learn new ones as a matter of courtesy.
Hell, the malleable nature of language is a barrier. For this to work, it would to be a closed language. Look at English here, which doesn't so much as borrow from languages as chase down to beat them bloody to riffle through their clothes for random innunciation. How about things like Saddle Arabians having no word for snow as opposed to yaks who probably have a bunch?
Look at the word courage, which we took from the French? Or sisu, a polish term that has no direct translation but exists as a concept of dogged determination?
And these are high hurdles for the same species. We aren't talking about disparity in cultures, but sapient beings physically see the world differently. I guess that could lead to harmony since humans beef with one another over such discrepancies as the same species, but still...

Yyyyeah, I'm having a bit of a time buying this explanation as well. It kind of feels like an unnecessary lampshading of something that wouldn't even have been noticed or commented on if the author didn't go out of their way to point it out.
If the language issue isn't relevant to the plot, then it should've just been ignored entirely, I think. If it is an important plot point, then it deserves a more reasonable explanation. Have our two protagonists wake up with splitting headaches when Daring & Trixie find them; Trixie scans them to see if there are any obvious injuries, then says something like "There are traces of magic on you of a type Trixie is not familiar with, but Trixie can see that a language spell has been used on you recently. Whatever happened to you, seems to have also given you a forced education in Equestrian Common. That would explain the headaches. Trixie has seen this many times before when she was a student at Celestia's school; many of Trixie's fellow students resorted to such forced-learning spells when cramming for their final exams, and paid heavily for it afterwards."

Possibly a bit of utopianism on the part of our good Goldfur
Honestly though, it's not necessarily a bad concept, and our good authors of course free to write how he sees fit, I'd just like a bit more. Like that's a very naive, borderline oblivious, view by Trixie on top of the issues I mentioned.
We see something in Bernards other works, but that's because most of humans culture got obliterated in the conflict there. Cosmic Lotus might have a similar deal, but even, that makes it worse.
Ignoring the moral and logistical implication, this suggests either a nigh apocalyptic event occurred, or the world is perhaps the dullest place in Creation. Pack it up gents, weve catalogued the lot! There's no one left to meet, nothing left to see!
Nothing more to learn? Twilight, I suspect, would not approve
https://m.There is, of course, also the matter of censorship and the Harmony spiel.... Then again, perhaps some concepts and arrangement of words are better left out of Babels lexicon
https://m.Interesting, one broken and one whole
This can not be a fun thing to witness
Nice looking art
Well that's useful... and horrifying
Undoubtedly
If their satelophone "account deactivation" message implies a time skip, then I have to note that as soon as their GPS tracker reaquires navigation data (and it may take a while after what amounts to a cold boot, on the order of tens of minutes) they will have accurate date and time information.
... Or it could have been the blood letting, human sacrifice, and wanton brutality of the Mayans, the latter of the three is, sadly, a decided part of humans history and nature
Which suggests an odd bias on ponies part, wouldn't you agree?
Not much to say beyond. Like how you did the portal and blood magic explanation.
Had it been me, I'd have stopped them immediately from contacting any humans lest they all end up being dissected in some lab
12055034
An interesting, if not somewhat inaccurate, evaluation on the matter. Best ponies come from a position of strength, or at the very least, establishing both an ability and willingness to defend themselves.
I do disagree though with the premise this would solely be a human thing.
Nice chapter!
Ah... that has implications
Ooh, timey-wimey stuff! Interesting : )
12055139
Hmmm, check the date / calendar function?
What can I say, great chapter.
You mean you didn't make them yourse
Hmm, that might hint at an issue
Thanks for the chapter!
Thanks for the chapter!
Not that much to harangue you about this time around to be honest. Granted there not much for me to chew on overall, but by no means does that make it bad. I'll chalk it up to you using it as a springboard towards the story at large
I guessed from last chapter that there was some kind of time differential.
Thanks for the chapter!
This is a chance for ponies to embark upon their own linguistic adventure.
