No, it is about an SCP-001 proposal where the sun suddenly becomes a hostile anomaly. Any person that exposes themselves to light from the sun will begin to melt until they turn into nothing but a red blob of flesh whose new goal is to bring every human alive under the sun.
Though, it is basically how you describe it in your comment.
"The sun is so beautiful" they say, but when I look at it my eyes just hurt!
for god’s sake, not the SCP-001 “sun is the deadly laser”!
I'm gonna take a gander and say the sun ain't gun be so friendly in a few darn minutes, and it'll start acting like that weird hillbilly that yur uncle hangs round with.

Ugh, so I don't really like the Humans are immune to magic trope at the best of times (it is incredibly overused), but it doesn't make any sense here.
This dude is from the SCP universe, or an adjacent one at least. Magic is straight up a thing there. Unless he's got a Scranton Reality Anchor in his pocket, there is no reason magic shouldn't affect him.
If anything, SCP humans are notably more affected by magic than humans from other realities. They have zero resistance to it.

Very much enjoying this, love the moment of peace and calm.
Found out about this story last night and i really like what you are doing here. As someone who likes both when day breaks and mlp, I'm happy to see a fic about it this well written! So I'm gonna say what I like and offer some criticisms.
I like how in character all the ponies are, especially the cmc. I mean everything seems close to the actual show. Heck the joke with rainbow dash touching goggles only for her wings to stop working and she falls into his lap and then gets incapacitated by his ear scratches, I could see that happening in the actual show.
I also liked the fact that unlike other human in equestria fics twilight actually remembers the zecora episode and uses the lesson learned in that episode to give goggles the benefit of the doubt.
And I do appreciate you setting this in season 2! Because alot of human in equestria stories jump to like season 6 or beyond and skip over the great episodes of earlier seasons. I do enjoy how you handle goggles as well. Even if he is safe, he knows that the sun can go from harmless to a planet destroying ball of evil. So he covers up even when he doesn't really need to.
As for criticisms I do have a few. The pov of goggles keeps saying you, which sounds like your talking to the reader instead of something like "i reach for the book" you put something like "you reach for the book" it makes the character seem like a reader insert.
The latest chapter and the previous chapter have a weird disconnect. We leave off with the translation spell seeming to fail. (the conversation between rainbow dash and applejack and goggles hints that it's beginning to work) goggles hadn't resolved the issue where he ate a bunch of applejacks products and he hadn't even spoken to fluttershy or spike. Twilight promises her friends that they can talk to goggles more tomorrow.
But cut to next chapter and there is a random time skip of several days. We don't get to see any initial meeting between goggles and spike or goggles and fluttershy. We don't get to see Twilight reacting to the fact that the translation spell is starting to work.
There isn't any resolution that we know of for goggles eating applejacks stuff at her stall. All that combined creates the impression that a chapter was skipped, I genuinely was confused on first reading. The two chapters seem really disconnected from one another and that we're missing a chapter.
And it's a shame cause the chapter itself is really good just lacking the connection to the previous chapter. Also why skip pinkies welcome party or goggles first nightmare? I wish we could see those events.
That's it for criticisms. Now for stuff I hope happens in the future. I hope before things inevitably go to shit that goggles gets to participate in the various episodes of season 2 and hopefully 3. He'd be hilarious in episodes like read it and weep and nightmare night. Maybe he can look dapper and help rarity in sweet and elite and hearths warming could be a really sweet chapter. I especially hope to see goggles involvement in the canterlot wedding 2 parter and the crystal empire. Maybe the whole season of we're lucky😁
Basically I hope to see goggles learn about the magic of friendship (and more about the world) alongside twilight and her friends. Taking part in Canon episodes while doing stuff in original chapters like this one. And uh poor Luna when she sees his nightmares😆 sorry if this was long winded but if hope you find this comment useful. I can't wait to see what misadventures goggles gets into and the horror of the red sun that is to come.

I'm glad you're enjoying the story, and seeing you comment that this fic feels close to the actual show made me feel really giddy inside lol. You're kind words mean a lot to me, and I'm glad you're enjoying Goggles as a character as well.
As for your criticisms, they are completely understandable, and I want to thank you for pointing them out.
The POV being written in second-person for Goggles was because he originally was actually going to just be a reader insert. I rationalized that since the character was going to be completely covering themselves from head-to-toe in clothing basically 24/7, then the reader can imagine what they look like underneath and whether they were male or female.
But, as I wrote and brainstormed how I wanted the story to play out, I ended up just making Goggles his own character. The second-person POV is merely for storytelling purposes now, but it won't stay like that forever, but it also won't change anytime soon as of right now. So I hope you can bear with it for now. :)
For your criticisms of the weird timeskip. I completely agree with you there. Looking back on it, I basically just threw that week of time out the window when i wrote the most recent chapter. However, I do intend to resolve it now that you brought it up. It'll most likely come in the form of two separate chapters.
Thank you for bringing it up now, because I most likely would not have thought twice about it. And by the time I did, I probably wouldn't have done anything about it.
Other than that, I'm excited that you're excited for the future of this fic! :D And I hope I see you in the comments of another chapter!

1. As of right now, out of the main 6, who does goggles like the most?
2.is the current moment goggles is at between "the return of harmony" and "lesson zero" or is it between "lesson zero" and "Luna eclipsed"?
3. When celestia and goggles meet, will celestia give goggles the same mission she gave twilight (learn about the magic of friendship) and will he write friendship letters like the rest of the main 6 do, post lesson zero?
4.why have goggles be a regular civilian instead of him being one of the scp foundation's surviving mtf unit or a scp site guard?
5.will you do all of season 2's episodes or only some of them and will you do any of season 3?
6.any chance that later on when he is in a secure place he could show some ponies his face and maybe in the future rarity could do a "indoor away from the sun fashion show" where rarity makes some outfits for goggles and he can model them for the main 6 and spike?
7.will the scp foundation appear in equestria eventually?

1. Probably Rainbow Dash. I mean she literally goes out of her way to get afternoon pets from him lol. I'm sure she's secure at the top
2. He arrived sometime between Lesson Zero and Luna Eclipsed. I thought about making a chapter for him being in Lesson Zero but decided against it because the moral of that episode would probably be completely lost on Twilight if Goggles just "fixed" the problem quickly enough with his magic nullification. Additionally, I didn't want Goggles to meet Celestia so quickly in the story.
3. No. And don't count on it either.
4. There are no words that can describe just how lucky he is.
(But if you want a non-canon answer, this fic was heavily inspired by a Demon Slayer fanfic and Helluva Boss fanfic. I just took the Demon Slayer route.)
5. There's going to be some heavy timeskips to move the story forward, but it's going to be a mix of some episodes and some original chapters. Some of Goggles' action will shake up the canon quite a bit, but it should stay on track for some of season 3. But after that, the canon is going to completely derail as the story really starts.
6. Yes, the rest of the main 6 and Spike will get to see his face, but it probably won't be as like your saying. Goggles hasn't told them anything (and doesn't want to) about why he's wearing so much clothes. It's most likely going to just "happen" so to speak.
7. I don't know, will it? That's for you to eventually read and find out. 😉

5. Understandable most seasons except 3 have a bunch of episodes. Putting the original chapters in between Canon episodes is a good touch as well. As it makes use of the in universe time between the episodes you do decide to use. Also glad to hear we'll get some season 3! I'm definitely eager to see how goggles alters the episodes!

Alright, first things first.
This paragraph switches between first-person and second-person when referring to Goggles. Since this is being written in his journal, it should stay in first-person.
Anyways, nice chapter. Spooky season is all year round. Spike's costume truly is the pinnacle of comedy.
It seems that SMILE is this world's version of SCP... and Goggles is an SCP now. I'm certainly interested to see how Lyra or other SMILE agents interact with him in the future. Hopefully he's not locked away in a containment chamber forever...

Read through all 3 chapters and they are great! Poor cmc didn't know at the time that goggles was only there to help And the scene with fluttershy in the treebrary was cute.
Its Good to see goggles getting along with the "wuzard" and becoming a celebrity among the foals. That will be fun to see in the future!
