I definitely hope you will expand on this universe. I have to know how the Elements were turned into eldritch terrors.
Also, is there any chance of Orion paying a visit to this world? If so, I say make this a world where a version of him existed. It'd be really interesting to see how the monstrous versions of the Elements will react when they recognize him.

Spoiler time!
The Creature is one of the copies that the Mirror Pool created during the Too Many Pinkies Episode. During the round up, and subsequent banishing of the copies, they missed one. One who had been inside the cave already during the Purge.
In my AU, Twilight went a bit farther than just covering the entrance. She also erected barrier stones to keep any sentient creature from entering, or exiting the sight without going through the main entrance, which was blocked up with a barrier stone of it's own.
When the Skyrovers found the site, they unleashed an entity that had been the copy, but had been warped by time and insanity from being trapped within. My idea, was that the Mirror Pool was meant as a tool of war created by an ancient culture to make expendable soldiers in battle. They were never meant to last centuries. So mutations occured due to there being no aging, just singular and perpetual existence.

Lol, I will try and expand. This one is likely going to end up like my Records of Scientia after plot. Though in that story, I quickly realized I had to stop posting as I was eventually going to have to give away too many spoilers.
As for Orion possibly visiting this world, the answer is no. I want this one to be separate. The cataclysmic failure of this Reality's social and economic structures are its own.

That was bloody good. The Elements being a bane of ponykind long after they're gone is a very cool idea!
This was really cool. I'm always a fan of stories that leave you wondering what the hell led up to the setting's current state. I can totally see the creepypasta influence here. The way the story was structured (alongside the mention of a council) took me back to reading those interviews that SCP articles often had. Would love to read more stories in this setting

I liked this story a lot. My top things enjoyed were the worldbuilding and the scene descriptions. Feels like there was a lot of effort on those two things specifically, and it shows.
