This story is utterly ridiculous...but knowing how Misty has grown into some clever, sneaky little gremlin over the course of G5, I would have believed this was a canon event

I don't know why there aren't more stories like this; with Misty usurping Opaline, I mean. Even without the intimate implications and hypnosis, there's a multitude of ways I could see it happening, and having an evil (or at least mischievous) Misty rule over everypony.
Of course, since G5 isn't as popular as G4, I don't think her character gets the focus and attention it deserves from the fandom, especially given the possibilities with her tragic backstory.
...That being said, is it weird that one of the things I'm most fixated on in this story is that Opaline recycles her cans?
