Chapter 11

Allura cackled, with a wicked glee,
Her wings took flight, with wild abandon free
Her voice joined Twitch's, a chilling sound,
As they burst through, with freedom found

The wind did howl, a chilling blast,
As they emerged, the darkness passed
The sky stretched wide, a boundless sea,
As Allura soared, wild and free

Her wings spread wide, a silhouette,
Against the sky, their freedom met
Together, they, did rise so high,
Their voices echoed, to the sky

The crystal cavern, left behind,
Out of sight, and out of mind
Their voices blended, a chilling song,
As they soared onward, their spirits strong

Allura and Twitch landed with a soft thud amidst the tall, shadowy trees, the branches swaying gently in the wind as if the forest itself could sense their arrival. The dense canopy above hid them from view, casting dappled shadows over the forest floor. Allura folded her wings, taking a deep breath as she glanced over her shoulder, making sure they had successfully escaped the collapsing cavern. Her icy eyes flicked over the landscape, alert and calculating, while her chest rose and fell steadily, regaining composure after their daring escape.

Twitch, on the other hand, was still full of energy, his whiskers twitching as he hopped off Allura’s back with a carefree bounce. He shook his fur out, sending a light dusting of crystal shards flying before turning to grin up at the fierce winged snow leopard. "Whew, that was a close one! But we made it! I knew we would!" he said, his voice brimming with excitement. Then, his eyes twinkled with mischief, and he leaned closer to her. "Hey, Allura," he said with a teasing lilt, "tell me you love me."

Allura’s reaction was immediate and visceral. Her fur bristled, and she recoiled as if he’d just insulted her. She bared her sharp fangs, ears flattening against her skull. "What?! Don’t say that awful word to me!" Her voice was a low, dangerous growl, dripping with disdain. Her eyes narrowed, flashing like a storm about to break. She looked as though she was ready to claw the very idea out of the air.

But Twitch wasn’t fazed. In fact, he only grinned wider, unfazed by her ferocity, and leaned into her side, nuzzling against her fluffy, purple fur. “Oh, please,” he said, his tone light and playful, “I know you love me. You don’t have to say it for me to know. I mean, look at us! Best partners in crime, thick as thieves! You love me.”

Allura gave an annoyed huff, stepping away from him with a flick of her tail. "I am fierce," she snarled, her wings flaring slightly for emphasis. "I am powerful. I am dominating. I take what I want, and I crush those who stand in my way! I don’t have time for... love in my heart. That’s not who I am, and I won’t let some pitiful, sentimental emotion sully my cold, unfeeling nature." Her voice was like ice, and she punctuated the last words with a sharp snap of her jaws, warning him to drop the subject.

But Twitch only laughed—a short, delighted sound that seemed to catch Allura off guard. She blinked, confusion flickering across her face as her ears twitched in irritation. She growled low in her throat, stepping toward him menacingly. “What’s so funny, rabbit?” she demanded, her eyes narrowing dangerously.

Twitch looked up at her, still chuckling, and waved a paw dismissively. “Oh, calm down, you big ball of fur. I’m not saying you’re all warm and fuzzy inside. Because you aren't.” He grinned, hopping onto a low branch so that he was closer to her eye level. “Look, Allura, you’re cold and cruel and everything a great villain should be. But I don’t buy that it’s all you are. I would say that nastiness and cruelty are your. . . hobbies."

Allura stared incredulously at him, the look on her face showing that she was struggling to understand him. "Hobbies?" she echoed.

Twitch nodded and pointed at her, "Yeah, hobbies! You know, something you do to pass the time. You’re great at it, don’t get me wrong, but I know there's more to ya. There's gotta be room for... I don’t know, a little affection in there. It doesn’t ruin your villain cred. It’s just another part of what makes you, well, you. And hey, having someone to stand by you while you take over Equestria? That’s not so bad, right?”

Allura stared at him, her icy mask cracking just a little as she considered his words. She hated to admit it, but there was a certain logic to what he was saying. Sure, she was powerful and ruthless, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t keep a few things—like Twitch’s loyalty—close to her heart. It didn’t mean weakness, and she'd be delusional if she denied all the times she had shown him affection.

After a long moment of silence, Allura’s eyes darted around the forest. She meticulously checked the surroundings, her wings shifting slightly as she scanned the trees for any signs of prying eyes or listening ears. No other creatures. No witnesses. Satisfied, she lowered her head and leaned in close to Twitch, her muzzle brushing against his ear. Her growl was low, and her voice was stiff, almost like it pained her to say it, but she whispered, “Fine. I... I love you, Twitch.”

Twitch’s eyes widened in delight, and his entire body lit up with glee. He bounced off the branch and into the air, twirling in a little hop of joy. “Ha! I knew it!” he squealed, his voice full of triumph. “I love you too, Allura!” He danced around her in wild circles, hopping from side to side as his laughter rang out through the trees.

Allura groaned in embarrassment, her ears flattening against her head as she resisted the urge to pounce on him and shut him up. Her face heated with a mix of frustration and reluctant amusement, and she growled low in her throat, “Don’t make me regret it, Twitch.”

But she didn’t stop him. Instead, she allowed him this one moment of victory, even if it grated against every icy instinct she had. For now, she’d let him celebrate.

But then, out of nowhere, a shimmering portal ripped open the air before them. The edges of the portal glowed a strange violet hue, casting an otherworldly light on the surrounding forest.

Allura narrowed her eyes, her wings instinctively flaring in defense. But then, stepping out of the swirling void was a figure she hadn’t seen in years.

His appearance was nothing short of striking. His fur was a pristine, pale violet with faint lavender spots swirling across his powerful limbs. His piercing violet eyes radiated calm confidence, and his mane—flaming red, gold, and orange—was wild but regal, an untamed fire against the coolness of his coat. His wings, sleek and sharp, looked like they could slice through the sky itself, their undersides gleaming with a fiery iridescence that made him look both graceful and dangerous. His muscular form exuded strength, and the way he moved was with a quiet, assured power. Everything about him screamed royalty, control, and charisma.

Allura stood frozen, her mouth slightly agape, blinking as though unsure of what she was seeing. "Alterro...?" she whispered, confusion flickering across her sharp features.

Alterro gave a long, weary sigh as his eyes locked with hers. "Allura," he began, his tone calm yet filled with a sense of gravity, "the collapse of this reality has warped your mind. You’ve forgotten yourself."

She blinked again, stunned. “W-What are you talking about? What collapse? What do you mean, warped?”

Alterro stepped forward, his gaze softening but never losing its intensity. "I hope my 'Purr-suation' is enough to remind you." His voice dropped to a low, resonant purr, vibrating through the air like a soothing, magical hum. His eyes glowed softly, their violet light brightening as he fixed her with a powerful stare.

Allura’s body stiffened, her pupils shrinking as the glow from Alterro’s eyes reached hers. For a moment, her mind resisted, pushing back against the wave of warmth, but then something inside her shifted. The tight, icy grip that had held her thoughts in place suddenly loosened. Her claws dug into the dirt as she gasped, a flood of clarity crashing into her like a tidal wave.

Her voice was trembling with anger and confusion. "What’s wrong with me? Why did I want to conquer Equestria? I never cared about that!" She shook her head, growling in frustration. "I didn’t come here for this! I came for the Nova Charm, to open a portal... back home! Back to you! I sang a musical number about it back in that stupid pony amusement park! I-!" Her voice caught, and for the first time in what felt like forever, Allura’s eyes shone with vulnerability as she looked at her brother.

The realization hit her hard, her breath hitching in her throat. Alterro was standing right in front of her, after all these years of trying in vain to get back to him. With a sob, Allura’s tough exterior shattered, and she leapt forward, burying her face into his warm, familiar fur. Her tears soaked into his thick coat as she let out a series of ragged sobs, her body trembling.

Alterro wrapped his powerful paws around her, his wings curling protectively as he held her close. His voice was gentle, his purring even softer now. "It’s okay, Allura. Everything’s going to be okay now."

For a long moment, they stayed like that, her sobbing gradually quieting as the sense of safety in his embrace calmed her. Once her breathing had steadied, she pulled back slightly, her eyes shimmering with confusion. "But... how did this happen?" she asked, her voice quieter now but still laced with anger. "How did my motivation change without me even realizing it?"

Alterro sighed again, his eyes dark with an understanding sadness. "It’s because this world is ending, Allura."

Her eyes widened, shock clear on her face. "What? Ending?" she repeated, her voice rising with disbelief.

Alterro nodded solemnly. "This reality is crumbling. The ponies’ world is reaching its final pages, like a journal that’s been written in for too long. And when a world comes to its end, it starts frantically trying to fit in as much as possible—memories, stories, lives, everything gets jumbled. It’s why your mind was affected. Personalities get scrambled when realities lose their structure."

Allura’s brow furrowed as she processed this, the anger simmering in her chest. "My mind was warped because of this... this pony world falling apart?" She growled, her fangs bared, though her frustration was directed more at the situation than at Alterro. "I don’t care about their world collapsing. But messing with my head—" She growled again, her frustration with Equestria reaching new heights.

But then a new thought flickered in her mind, and she turned back to her brother, further confusion creeping into her gaze. "How did you even open that portal? You didn’t have the Nova Charm..."

Alterro gave her a reassuring smile, shaking his head. "I didn’t need it. With this world ending, the boundaries between realities are thinner than ever. My magic was enough to break through the barriers. It also let me look in on you from time to time. I saw several of your setbacks and sticky situations. It spurred me to force my way through even harder. I’d say the fact that I'm standing here right now is proof that it all paid off."

Allura blinked, considering his words. Her anger slowly drained away as relief took its place. She nodded slowly, feeling the weight of everything settle into place. "Then... it’s finally time to go home."

Alterro nodded, a soft, comforting purr rumbling from his chest. "It’s time, sister. You’ve been away far too long."

Allura’s chest tightened with a strange mix of emotions. The thought of leaving the chaos and failure of this world behind filled her with a sense of urgency. "Good. I’ve had enough of this place." She turned to Twitch, who had been unusually quiet, though his eyes were wide with curiosity and uncertainty. He hopped nervously on the spot.

"Am I... coming too?" Twitch asked, his voice small and not filled with the bravado he gained from finally being able to talk that very day.

Allura’s expression softened and an absolutely tender look spread across her face—something she never would have allowed before—and she reached out, grabbing him gently and him pulling him close. "Of course you’re coming, you little rodent. I’m not leaving you behind." Her voice had a rare warmth to it, though she quickly buried it beneath her usual growl.

Twitch beamed, his paws flailing excitedly. “Yes! I knew you’d never ditch me!” he squealed, snuggling up against her, feeling victorious.

Alterro nuzzled Twitch's head between his ears and said, "Thanks, little guy. . .for being there for her."

Allura stared into the portal Alterro had opened up, a sense of true relief flowing through her. Then, with a final look between her brother and her partner in crime, Allura nodded and said, "Let’s go home."

Together, the three stepped through the portal, leaving the crumbling world of the ponies behind them, bound for the snow-leopard realm. A new beginning awaited them, and this time, Allura was ready to reclaim everything she'd lost.

Allura pondered, her anger ceased,
As relief took hold, a welcome feast
"It's time to go," she softly said,
As Alterro nodded, his longing fed

Allura's heart, with mixed emotions stirred,
As she thought of home, a longing word
"Enough of this," she firmly said,
"Let's leave this world, soon to be dead"

"Am I coming?" Twitch did inquire,
His voice was small, filled with desire
Allura nodded, her heart grew warm,
As she pulled him close, to keep from harm

Twitch was thrilled, his joy did gleam,
As they stepped through the portal, a wondrous dream.
A new beginning, awaited them,
As they left this world, a fading gem.

THE END

Author's Note:

Congratulations, whoever made G5. By trying to make it a direct sequel to G4, you insulted and angered many of the fans to the point that Izzy's voice actress got booed at a convention. I don't know who is to blame for the failure of G5, but I suppose it doesn't really matter. Maybe G4 was lightning in a bottle. Hopefully G6 will go back to the roots and be a high fantasy with a Megan Williams like figure aiding the ponies. As for G5, my headcannon ending is Alterro picking Allura and Twitch up himself while Sunny and her friends just keep pointlessly fooling around since that's all they're apparently capable off.

I don't think making it a G4 sequel was the problem- heck, I'd argue it was a pretty good idea in theory. The problem was entirely the story and writing. Heck, it being a sequel didn't really mean much in the long run- all it led to was inconsistencies. What happened to Pegasi being able to move the weather? If flight requires magic, how come Rainbow and Fluttershy didn't have any problems flying in the Season 8 finale? What happened to every OTHER species? We only got an answer for the dragons! If Opaline isn't even confident enough to take over Equestria without dragonfire even when Twilight and co. are long dead, how in the heck did Twilight not defeat her AGES ago WITHOUT sealing away magic? Etc.

And as for starting the series with basically everything the heroes did in G4 being undone: well, let's compare it to, say, the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. Sure, that series started with the galaxy still being threatened by an evil empire, but it's not like everything that happened was just forgotten- the characters are still around and still have an impact on the story, not to mention that past events DO matter. Take The Last Jedi: Luke turned Vader, which convinces Rey that she can turn Kylo. The Rebels in the past often fell back on high-risk, low-chance-of-success plans, and Poe does the same even when it isn't necessary. The choices made in the past influence the choices in the present.

Meanwhile, aside from the stories of Twilight and her friends inspiring Sunny in the beginning, G4 might as well not have happened. Sure, they make a bunch of references to it, but the most G4 we really get is Spike coming back. Sure, Twilight makes a cameo, but just to tell us "Oi, watch out for this baddie. K, bye." At least the comics currently seem to be doing a proper crossover (The Storm of Zephyr Heights). I'm fine with new villains, but whilst Allura does look kind of cool and is kind of an interesting character, they probably would've been better off replacing Opaline with Chrysalis, Cozy Glow, Tirek, Sombra or heck, even the REAL Grogar.

tl;dr: G5: Good idea, bad execution.

Hope this makes sense.

Edit: Even better idea I've just thought of- at the end of G4, we had griffons, kirin, dragons, etc. ALL learning together- why not USE that? Sunny and her friends are alright and all, but you mentioned in the past that Hasbro could've made a series starring the Young 6- well, here was a golden opportunity! Have the main cast include a griffon, a diamond dog, heck, a centaur, maybe! I know the show is called My Little "Pony", but I don't think people will complain if you throw a griffon into the main cast! (As you've probably guessed from me mentioning them about 3 times so far, griffons are my favourite species in the show)

I feel like I could've worded my comment better, so here's a more concise one:

G5 being a sequel could've worked in my opinion, but the simple truth is the story isn't very engaging to me, and it seems to focus more on referencing G4 than actually picking up where G4 left off.
