A reporter stumbles across an old book next to a set of old bones at the bottom of a crater. Flipping through the pages, her reads the story of its author and his time inside the crater. He speaks of the royalty as if he knew them well along with other notable ponies. The story is deemed by the reporter to be the tellings of a raving lunatic losing his mind.

I didn't really get the ending, in a way. Blood spreads and it can't be the shape of a pony! *sighs* I apologise.
Great story anyways, though. 
1432079 Indeed, but his head never moved from that spot. The blood never got under the skull. The negative space was the shape of the pony. I should probably clarify that is what I meant. Plus, plus it isn't something distinct, its very fuzzy from the blood soaking through. The basic shape is still there though. I hope that clears up a few things, if not I will try to answer any further questions. I dislike the journal format since I had to leave a lot of the events vague and mysterious since Eyn was losing his mind in the Everfree. Really hard to make a coherent story out of it.

The mystery behind this is well put together and how he slowly losses his mind is great.
Only one thing left for me to say, PLEASE MAKE A BACK STORY TO THIS! I would love to see one.
