I love “life progression” stories like these. Though it’s sad these kind of stories always inevitably ends with the “mundaneness of adulthood” chapter, because that’s what we’re living in now and that’s how we feel. Perhaps childhood was more mundane than we remember it to be?
(Also is this a Dear Evan Hansen reference)
(And nice DIY cover art)
It's an interesting concept, I've heard of people writing letters to themselves of course, but I didn't know it was a genre of story too. I think I might have liked it a bit more if it had felt more fleshed out somehow, although I'm not sure how you might have done that without making it into a more traditional story, so don't mind my nit picking xD
Anyways, for what it was I suppose it was a nice read.

I get the reference, but the story also reminds me of this:

It is a Dear Evan Hanson reference, it was more of a "well, I name all these stories after songs so let's do it".

I don't know whether I should be happy because music or offended because the song sucks.
Ahh I love this so much >< I actually did this for myself abouuut 3 years ago, 2 more years until I can write a second. Who knew 5 years could take so long when it hasn't come all the way through yet?

LMAO

I'll admit the song is an ear worm, but at least it's better than Nickleback.

Kind of like that trailer for that Ted show on Peacock where he reads a letter from his past self and says "poor kid had so much hope."
Nice story — reminded me of a couple of those letters to your future self from childhood. I see it's unfinished, curious to see what happens tobRose next .

Might as well clear the air right now-- the idea is that this is to be a running fic. After all, it's so closely based around my life that this in a way is my letter to my future self.
If I'm not around on this site in 5 years I will mark this story complete, but as for now I have no plans to.

Makes sense. Thanks for sharing! Hope the next entry turns out to be a wonderful one.
I thought this was lovely. A very gentle, very real reflection of what growing up is like with gender dysphoria, as well as just growing up in general, seeing how your relationships with other people and with yourself change, seeing things in retrospect which should have been clear.
I wish the best for Rose.
