Shadic Midnight Blitzer

Writing occasionally here, posting art on Twitter and Deviantart, and posting music on Youtube. Still somehow finding myself stuck not knowing what to do lol XD

Excellent! Curious to see how our characterization of Moonlight's parents differ since we've written them independently! Just need to post the chapter they're introduced in when the time comes!

Yep! That's the experiment!
But yeah, I'm glad I am beginning to write this story. Art will come depending on the chapter, and if I have time to draw for said chapter.
I hope to make things logical with each chapter as well.
Well, if you're going to post another chapter today in your story, I will see you then. Need to work on my own next chapter!

Excellent, a nice start! Cute art for Moonflower too!

Thank you! I like how her design turned out!
Sure it kind of looks like Moonlight, and that makes sense. Moonlight got her looks mainly from her mother. Which means a lot of deciding for how Moonflower's husband should look like!

Can't wait to see him too!

Interesting Story and nice art

Let's see... From what I see and understand, Luna here has, so to speak, the choice to save souls, and partially bodies, by transforming them into Batponies. A curious thing, since although it could be a contrast if her sister had the prefix of goddess of life, it would be understandable that Luna could partially intervene in the premature death of ponies.

I still have doubts, for example, why choose certain ponies to "save" them from their destiny, when Starswirl had taught them that it is counterproductive to intervene in the cycle of life. Reasons why in the comics it is said that you cannot do or rather, you should not do spells or magic that drastically alter someone's life and death.

That being said, it's strange to say the least, but it does add a weird twist to the story, not a bad thing, but it's out of the ordinary and I hope to see Celestia act as a counterpart because, if Luna can do that, in a war, Luna would have an infinite armada by her own right.

Now as such, it seemed too fast to me how Moonflower "got used to" not only the body, but especially to the news she received, I felt it was too fast... Fast especially when someone tells you that you're not dead... but that you were "reincarnated" in some way in another body but with drastic modifications to your body. Which at first had to have had at least a psychological shock and not to mention the fast adaptation to her new body.

That's why I feel that this is weak.

But I will have to see what else there could be later in future chapters, first this is strange as I said, I just hope that in the same way the scales of power are balanced for Celestia, because Luna already has an ability, too powerful.

I am glad that you took the time to do a detailed analysis of this story, as well as to point out some potential flaws.

While I don't want to spoil too many things, I do need to mention that Celestia is simply The Solar Princess. Likewise, Luna is simply The Lunar Princess. Neither of them are the Goddess of Life, technically that should be Faust?

I am not using the comics in this lore. And well, that certainly did not stop many from playing around with fate like Starlight. Also, didn't comic Celestia fell in love or at least heavily appreciated Good King Sombra’s friendship so much that Starswirl had to directly intervene despite already telling Celestia to stop going through the portal? Or something like that?

Luna’s eventually going to act against all logic and block out the sun (maybe that's why there's only like 8 people in her palace or something, everybody dead from no food in the Nightmare Moon timeline lol), so it wouldn't be hard to imagine her playing with life like this.

It's not like Celestia can't do something similar, though that probably won't happen until Celestia feels lonely. But don't worry, Luna will never have that sort of edge where she can just spawn more thestrals from fallen Equestrians. There are multiple reasons and limitations on her power which I hopefully will get to explain with each new chapter. Unless I forget, then that'd be a my bad on me.

Yeah, this chapter being 1.3k words does make it seem very short. It's not like Moonflower just got over the fact she died. Spoilers, a lot of what would become thestral society will be because of the fact that they all know they were once dead. Their deaths and the life they lived before will play a role in who they are now and how they will rebuild themselves.

And I know, her adapting to the situation was also, but that's a side effect of Luna’s magic, which will also be covered in the future. Not immediately, but around the middle of the story. It helps that most of her memories feel blocked to her. She doesn't even remember how she died.

Let me ask you a question, the dead can never mourn, those who are alive can, but can those who were never dead mourn for themselves?

I know this question probably won't make sense, I'm very sleepy, sorry, but you might be able to find my logic if you think about it and find my perspective.
