Suffering the Curse of the Always Chonk: No matter what word limit I set, I will always write double that amount.

T

The fate of Vraks is sealed, history was being written and no amount of heroism would change that.

When all hope for the hive is lost, one warrior of Vraks is determined to protect that which he holds so dear.

They will survive, even if he does not.

A deeply disturbing but fascinating creature.
I will put it on my wall.

Very sad :c it's a good story to, I liked it ^^

Big thank!
I made myself a bit sad writing some parts, so I'd hope a little of that feeling carries over.🍪

I like the idea and twist a lot, but I do have to complain about the pacing. It's a little too slow for how hectic the situation should feel. It should feel chaotic, messy, and panicked, but by giving the reader long-winded descriptions of how hectic everything is, you ironically create the opposite effect.
And please don't put line breaks in the middle of paragraphs, it's quite jarring to read.

Though don't take this as me hating on the fic; like I said, it was quite an interesting read

No need to worry, I'm happy for the constructive input! I must learn to write the funny symbols better!🍪

I wasn't expecting for it to be called slow though, I felt like things were actually going too fast because of the word limit I had to fit the whole thing into. I originally expected the story to be around 20K in size, with longer scenes and more room to be hectic, but felt up to the challenge of making it more compact for the competition.

And yes, I've been made aware of the goofy formatting and have been stuck feeling like a goober until the contest ends. I've been told I cannot change things until the judging has concluded.

I feel like it's a case of "it would have been better if it had been longer, but also if it had been shorter".

Yee, I getcha.
I had a lot of fun doing this entry, and I did my best to fit the most vital parts in to such a small package, but unsurprisingly it needed more room. Something I hope to give it in the future when I have time to do a full version.

Thanks for the input once again🍪
