This story is a sequel to In Space, We Don't Abandon Innocence

Having found the locations of the scattered seeds of Equestria, Twilight feels compelled to see what happened to her people. Leading a civilian vessel with the latest technology, she boldly sets off into the unknown in a living body, accompanied by her closest friends, some living and some not.

Will her hybrid crew of humans and ponies make it through and discover the fate of the lost seeds? Can she rescue some of her lost kin? Let's find out!

Done for a patron lovingly. The schedule is 2 a month and we're starting... now!

Chapters (9)

Calling on Murphy twice before they even put the ship in Drive? Theyre lucky the gear box didnt strip a cog.

Then again, it just means Murphy will be plotting something so impressive, Pinkie will be offering popcorn. :pinkiegasp:

There is a typo in the introduction, "she bolds sets off".

A sequel to don't abandon innocence? Count me in! Loved both previous stories in this series, and when there's more chapters, I'm sure I'll love this one too.

They paid for two chapters this month, so I got them out snappily! Expect two more next month and ongoing.

Awesome. I always love stories that update regularly. Looking forward to reading this when it has more chapters.

Well that is going to be a big mess. Twilight cant obliterate Dash before she returns, and they cant hang aroundtrying to solve the problem, if the pod is that intact but doesnt have any computer links for data access.

The place sounds like it should be related to Tarterus, Everfree, Changeling Hive or Flim and Flams Shed. A Prison or extreme research and development thats gone wrong, or very very right? :rainbowderp:

Zombie ponies! There is sure to be a nasty virus involved, they better keep their biosecurity guard up. Could be nanorobots like the Borg use, even nastier.

It's nice to see Harriet is back. Did North Star join up? Where did Flurry Heart come from? I don't remember her being on board either seed ship.

Where is pinkie anyway I mean the cake walk comment had me concerned also is a certain hot dragoness going to be in this?

No idea what the pecentages are rolled for the gate interactions given the planetary stuff. Just spurised, given the Dragons earlier, that Twilight isnt running a whole mix of scans and tests regularly, as even Arthur C Clarke used advanced human computational logic paradoxical warefare on the Monoliths.:derpytongue2:

All Beoing did with their aircraft software was remove the instruction to refresh the entropy pool, and after 50 days or so, it caused a rollover, error and aircraft started faling out of the sky? Just which bit has to be flipped in Dashs code after inteacting with that plaent for contingency code to be called where its not expected, with just the wrong error? :rainbowderp:

That was a nice interlude of character drama. Twi and Dash are reminded that life is not fair. Hope we get back to the adventure soon.

Expect much of both. This is Star Trek modeled, both are in abundance.

The scifi/family twin vibes of this series has a very "Lost in Space" vibe that I enjoy.

Welcome aboard! I wasn't aiming for lost in space specifically, but I can see how that works.

Somethings piggybacking in the code. Dash is thrwing her flight ability off too easily where she could use speed and her black belt martial arts to take care of even trees. Torching them is closer to unresolved Gilda or Garble behaviour?:trixieshiftright:

Looks like Dash didn't read The Lord of the Rings, he should have known that trees can be dangerous. Good going Dash, set a whole world on fire. I hope one of those crystals contains the captain's log.

Why do I get the feeling that those trees were the ponies ???

Since recovering the data storage crystals is one of the mission's main objectives, I would hope Twilight provided the ship's computer with a suitable interface for easily reading their contents, at least for the undamaged ones.

Thats a lot of spreading around, and a lot of build on landing to reach the point where a resynch unit could be made on site. Pity there couldnt be personal files assotiated with the mind files, give something to synch with while the full builds completing?

Well, theres A Spike, though it looks to have been quite a few years since Twilight first met her stowaway. I wonder what this Spikes special ability is. apparently not dragonbreath warp flame communication? :moustache:

The next planet sounds like one the dragons would like. Dragons like to swim in volcanoes. Maybe RD will take Spike along on this one.

Yay, my favorite saga continues! :moustache:

There were only six live ponies on Twilight's original seed ship. The first and second generations were human pony hybrids created from Twilights magic reproduction program. Now all of the Ponies are part human great (varying number of greats) grandchildren of those six ponies. This rescue mission isn't just about rescuing Twilight's lost friends, it's about restoring the richness and diversity of all of Pony kind.

Many were never 'alive'. Digital constructs created from the memories of those originals. Hence the conflict now, as the originals meet their doppelgangers.

12016197
Did Twilight have any more of the original ponies than the original main six stored on her set of Mark 1 data crystals? I was assuming there was only space for the six pony files.

12016216
She had originals only of herself and her friends. All others are either new, or recreations from memory and likely to produce interesting existential questions.

Oof sounds like what happened to those ponies is something that happened in an actual fim episode

Now that I think of it each pony grabbed their necks beforehand almost like they’ve been bit by something or stung by a barb from a bee or like a thorn from a plant

Oh speeded up over several days. I was having to dig into some really obscure medical stuff to even get a start on things happening so quickly as to turn pony DNA into totipotent plant DNA via catterpillar sequencing massively parralel. Im pretty sure the fastest way for a movie for this trick would be via the mitochondria with a conversion concentration threshold trigger. :pinkiegasp:

Depending on wat happens to Spike, especially with Twilight hitting Murphy with a Blue Fin Tuna, given certain known animal and life realm occurances we already know about never mind Scifi predicted before any magical effects are added in, and greatly depends on the story rating for description.

Three times a stone a dragon shall be. :fluttershysad:

Some of the crew members have secretes. That sort of thing always comes back to bite you in the butt. Big Mac, but no Sugar Belle?

We got more mysteries, Harriet's past, Zecora's dark object. Twilight's record of failures, an unstable star, ponies died, killer zombies, ponies died, killer trees, ponies died. Smooth sailing? I don't think so. This story has been walking on the dark side for too long.

Dang. And here I was, dismissing the comment about the trees being the ponies two chapters ago as silly.

Too bad the meeting between the Sweetie Belles happened "off-camera."

This Spike might work on a ship, but he isnt a high ranking structural or mechanical engiineer who has a chance of being able to claw or eat his way out of collapsed structure even if softened by the enviroment he can survive in?

Still, either the ship was failing and they had to land, as any dragon crew shouldve been bathing in the area, so maybe theres Kirin in there who would give things a chance, as Changelings do or do not gain heat resistance when in dragon form?:unsuresweetie:

Another lost ship of dead ponies. Which ones are in these crystals? Will they ever find a live pony? Rainbow still had to save Spike. Spike is immune to the heat but not getting crushed.
The originals can upgrade all the copies to originals, I hadn't thought of that. Once they sync the existential conflict should go away.

Double the Sweetie, double the fun!
:unsuresweetie: :unsuresweetie:

As tempted as she was to smash into it, as was her usual landing, she banked and slowed herself, to come in less like a flaming bit of debris.

Nice to see Dashie choosing not to crash-land. :rainbowdetermined2:

12034715
That is another existential wall, mind. The idea of just mingling with this not-you to such an extent that there is no wall between that thing and you? Not everyone is going to be okay with that.

I like the idea of a Sweetie sync!

Oh dear. I wonder how often a pony gets to go to High Claw Gartas place for dinner.

I also wonder how good the bugz are against orbit teleports both technical and magical? :trixieshiftright:

On the one hoof, yay! They found living ponies! :yay:

On the other, the buzgar almost seem too friendly. :rainbowderp:

On the third hoof, it sounds like the wilderness outside of the fence could have predators like the Everfree Forest. :fluttercry:

On the fourth hoof, my paranoid mind may be playing tricks on me. Guess we'll find out next chapter! :derpytongue2:

12044755
For a human, too many. For a pony, just right.

We finally found live ponies, but it's dangerous in space, there could be space pirates, or a dangerous natural hazard.

With those large insects, that planet has to have a high oxygen atmosphere (probably 20% or more). Under those conditions any kind of fire would be extremely dangerous and must be ruthlessly suppressed by the Buzgar. The Hooves would not be permitted to use any kind of fire or flame. They must use alternatives for light, heat and cooking. They may use mirrors or lenses to concentrate sunlight for heating and cooking and close cuddling may be a cultural norm for keeping warm at night. It's a good thing RD made a gentle landing; her usual flaming reentry would have been catastrophic. I hope she is careful in the future, she already incinerated one planet, and we do not want to torch this one.

Why does this remind me of a Star Trek episode? At least the ponies are alive and reasonably content.

:rainbowdetermined2:Mission accomplished!

The Buzgar seem to actually have the best interests of their little ponies in mind, and the ponies seem happy, so I'd call that a win. The big mystery is "What happened to the pegasi?" (Theory: There weren't any on the seed ship.)
