TheLostNarrator

I love reading Fan fiction, and sometimes, I like creating dramatic readings for them. :) http://www.youtube.com/user/thelostnarrator

Rarity has been designing and making dresses for decades. It was what she was meant to do with her life, and she knew that from the moment she got her cutie mark. But time wears on us all and Rarity knew in her golden years that she would need some assistance to keep her creativity flowing... but was it worth the cost?

If I click the link for the audiobook it says not aviable, the video is privat :fluttershysad:

Rare are the times where a story captures my attention, especially one about Rarity!
The twist that her little sister is the antagonist was really good! This made Rarity a very relatable character! Looking forward to your other work!

Sorry about that! The video is scheduled for a premiere now for this Friday at 4 PM Mountain Standard Time. :)

I feel like I might be misreading something vital here, but is the ending supposed to imply Rarity's actually a literal zombie now?

She wondered how much longer she would need to endure this. Shaking her head, she peered at the device one more time, her eyes falling on the title of the email: “The Late Rarity Fashion line…”

She swallowed hard, wondering if she should get a lock for her sister’s door.

So, from what I understood, Rarity not wanting to retire from the fashion business, made a deal with Sweetie. A deal that ultimately tied them to each other and over time a bitterness developed between the sisters, and the metaphorical hole they are in now is too deep for them to get out, not without their relationship ending badly. Did I get it right?

Yep, that's pretty much it. lol There are some other elements, but that's the main core idea of the story. :)

I'm guessing sweetie claimed rarity is dead to drive up sales

How old is Rarity and Sweetie here? I don't get that.

:duck: Precious Scales, Burn it down I'll state again like a Phoenix from the ashes
:moustache: Won't we get caught?

:unsuresweetie: honest officer I wasn't near the kitchen at all...

:facehoof: Burnt orange juice?

When you go in expecting maybe some horror and end up getting nailed in the chest by existential dread.

It's hard to say much because a lot of it hits so close. That weight of projects left unfinished, the allure of making bargains just to hang on, all the bitterness creeping in... Yeah I'm not really sure my soul enjoyed going through this, even though it was a good read. And the interpretations allowed by that ending :raritydespair:

"Nicely done" feels in some way like the wrong sort of praise for such a personal work, but my compliments even so on building something that connects so well.
