This story is a sequel to I Choose You
Sequel story to the Make Your Mark episode “Father of the Bridlewood” and the Tell Your Tale episode “A Swing and a Misty.”
It’s Sire’s Day, and Misty has the perfect gift in mind for her father Alphabittle: a complete do-over of their prior day out in order to make up for lost time! After all, the unicorns in Bridlewood always say that second time’s the charm, and she’s determined to make sure things go perfectly this time. In order to pull this off, she enlists the help of her friend Zipp Storm to devise a series of mysteries for them to complete throughout the day, all culminating in one grand reward. The only problem? Her friends can’t seem to agree on what sort of activities the duo should participate in, let alone the prize. With only 8 hours on the clock, will Zipp and the gang get their act together and pull off the best day ever? Or is a precious day with family destined to be ruined due to pointless squabbles? And why does the day going perfectly mean so much to Misty…?

What have I been saying? Always listen to Zipp. Can’t wait to see how this all backfires.
So obviously in universe things didn’t go perfectly, but I’d say this was another top tier story from you.

Thanks. It took MONTHS to get this story right, so the fact that you enjoyed it so much is a huge pressure off my back.
Awww... this was such an amazing story.
It really helps with my own Father's Day blues.

Thanks. I’m glad it was able to do that for you.
Aww awesome story can you do an underwater story of Misty
11930384
It definitely does sound interesting. However, I would need an episode to go off of first as all these stories are meant to work within the canon of the shows as supplementary stories. Misty hasn’t been down to the Jade Sea yet in Tell Your Tale, so anything that might break the canon of this generation is a no go, at least for this story universe. Maybe if we do see her explore the seapony world at some point (possibly with Izzy), I’ll absolutely consider it as a possible story expansion.
11930386
Well not as a seapony just a pony
11930389
Same deal applies. Like I said, if TYT does it, then I’ll absolutely consider a story follow up.

There was an underwater scene on tyt with zip
I absolute love stories where Misty spends time with her dad! So that makes your story one of my absolute favorites. I've written a few myself that I hope you'll check out. I hope we get a lot more official episodes where they spend time together because I just love seeing them together.
11930392
What do you think if it’s a no i understand it’s your choice
11930399
As I said, I’ll consider it. It’s definitely a fascinating idea. I just think I need an episode (or at least a tease of one) to back up the premise first, so like I always say, never say never.
11930394
Same. I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
A great and wonderful start so far!
I'll admit, I was worried about where this was going after the first chapter. I mean, it's one thing for them to argue over their own ideas. But actively sabotaging and ridiculing the others' efforts seems rather out of character for them. It might just be me, but I just can't imagine any of them behaving that way in the show.
With that said, I'm at least glad to see Zipp being the sensible one and keeping Misty's best interests at heart. Between the previous story and this one, I really like how you portray the relationship between them.

Thanks. I wanted to show what would happen if our ponies got so wrapped up in each other’s ideas for what the day should be that they completely lose themselves in the process. Think Twilight’s “Lesson Zero,” but multiplied by four. So yeah, they do go towards extremes, but that’s because they get so in over their heads to the point where they effectively lose sight of what’s truly important, and Zipp reminds them of why they are doing this to begin with. Ultimately, they all have Misty’s best interests at heart and want to see her happy, which is the sympathetic element, but they get so caught up in the moment that they begin to prioritize their own personal desires over the special day, leading to the lesson later on that you have to consider what the person you’re doing something for wants or enjoys, not what you want them to enjoy.
Also, yeah. I love writing the new stepsisterhood dynamic between Zipp and Misty. It’s probably one of the best dynamics Tell Your Tale has ever introduced, and I hope they do more with it.
Excellent story
Poor Misty.

Thank you. Hope you enjoy the rest of it!
They really should have listened to Zipp.
This is a nice and I like how they admitted that they got carried away and apologized for that.
11930393
I know Zipp becomes a seapony in one of the comics, but I can't recall any episodes of TYT with her in the sea.

It doesn’t need to be an episode too
You get a review!
This chapter is so reminiscent of D&D games I've played where the players all keep going offscript.

Given how condescending they were towards each other's ideas, it makes me question whether or not that's why they refused to work together in the first place.
Either way, I think they needed to apologise to each other as much as to Misty.
