I haven't even finalized all the males; I've used generalzoi's pony creator to model the first but I need help with cutie marks. Once I have my OC's all written out, or at least when I know what they look like I'll ask around or commission someone for cover art.

And where does it say who gets who when >.< *reads over riddle* oh, yeah that sounds like someone that Dash'd go for, but nope =P My goal is to keep from obvious straight forward A goes with 1 shipping. I want the characters to develop good strong relationships and not just Deus Ex Machina the buck out of the relationships.
Also, I have some trouble with perspective switching, I often try to place myself into the shoes of the characters and that often equals me transitioning from 3rd to 1st person. So if anyone sees any 'I's or other general errors please note them

Due to a mistake this was posted early; (it was supposed to be only visible in the 2nd chapter comments) but I though 'what the hey' from now on I will drop A picture and name of the next in line before their chapter.
1383926 Colorado scheme looks good. The muzzle for me is questionable but the rest is... * idea* why not instead of darker blue whmane why not a mix of electric yellow! And cutie mark for steam wing ( I think that Storm Breaker would be a little bit onthe 20% cooler side) should be something like Rainbow's but different... maybe twin lighting bolts in an "X" formation? If you need help with Fluttershy I would think that a naturalist or somesort of herbotnist would compliment her nicely. He should be all naturalist and be able to bring Fluttershy out of her shell.AJ's counterpart should be rancher or something of a farmer. She would need a strong determined stallion for her. Pinkie should find someone on crazy side. I would say rainbow Afro but that's dashie's mane... Rarity's should be on the wannabe high society plane as her. He would have to be tailor from the city or something. Twilight's has to be the last( feels right) hers would have to have a baby dragoness for spike as well as be a historian or scientist. Did that help at all? ANY QUESTIONS?

I don't plan on going into the full blown shipping till after the 6 counterparts are met. That way an opinion from each of the mane 6 can be formed for each of the new 6 before settling. In fact I plan on making a few instances of one swinging for the other and missing.
Plus its sometimes the types that seem destined or perfect that often fail.

One thing I noticed about chapter one that seemed a little "weak" was just *how* did Luna surmise that she had to find six ponies who were *not* the Mane 6? That first description sounded an awful lot like Twilight Sparkle, if you hadn't been told outright "it's not the Mane 6". If you clarified the reasoning behind that, I missed it.
I didn't really depict exactly what the prophecy entailed or how it was communicated to Luna; everything I have thought of so far have felt weak or out of character and I'm trying to avoid Deus Ex Machina so I can't really just make Luna 'see' a vision. I definitely need to revise both of my chapters so far, I haven't written much at all, ever, so this is going to be a slow and shaky climb.
So far I know for sure
Luna needs to be the patron of the Elements of Love; for her own development and because her Sister is the patron of the Elements of Harmony. The whole prophecy thing is just an attempt to rationalize her becoming their patron. Luna doesn't have much foreknowledge, unlike her sister when it came to the Elements of Harmony, nor does she have a faithful student she can just send out to tango with fate. Also I feel that Luna wouldn't be so trustworthy in the flow of fate as he sister seems to be, and would want to have more control or at least front row tickets to what is happening.
Steam Wing is the element of Passion and I know who hes getting shipped with.
I have most of the finer details of my next element ironed out but I'm trying to determine what element he directly represents; trust or respect and how either of those could be represented in the story.

Psh, screw around with it. You think Luna won't do well because of some-reason or another. Just go with what feels good and if necessary, redo it later or ask the fan's what sort of a direction they would like to see it go in.

I am loving this story! I like how you've made it fairly obvious that Steam Wing is gonna end up being a romantic interest for one of the Mane6, but you've given us little teasers for all of them so we have no true way of knowing which one he'll end up with!
