When Sunset Shimmer went through the Crystal Mirror, she found herself sent lightyears away from Equestria to the planet of Earth during the year 2190. Surviving two wars of annihilation alongside the Human race, she would rise through the ranks of the Earth Federation Cosmo Navy and eventually be assigned as Captain to the Dreadnought-class Battleship Defender.
Sunset, now known as Sarah Solace, believed that her position as Captain of the Defender meant she would never have to deal with her past on Equestria, mostly due to the fact that Equestria was deemed off-limits until the natives had developed space travel.
That all changed when a mysterious foe attacked the Earth's two most important intergalactic allies, the Great Garmillas Empire and the planet of Iscandar, leaving the former badly weakened and completely destroying the latter.
Now facing down the memories of her life as a Pony and the uncertain future of her life as a Human, Captain Sunset Shimmer must find the middle ground between the two if she is going to succeed in her new mission of peacefully introducing Equestria to the galactic power that is the Earth Federation.
This is a crossover with the anime Space Battleship Yamato, taking place after the 2205 season.

Having huge fan of Leiji Matsumoto's original Yamato, and the 2199 remake, AND the live action Movie. also played Super Robot Wars V that included Yamato. would you believe that the Wave Motion gun as a player usable weaponn (rather than in cutscenes) was locked until the last couple of missions per Matsumoto's request because it didn't want the player to be able to turn it against people?

This is a good start. It's been YEARS since I read a good MLP crossover with Space Battleship Yamato.
This story apparently takes place before the Gantlantis war, in an alternate timeline. I'll look forward for whats comes next.

Good start of a story
It's pretty entertaining so far, but if you'd take a bit of advice: Slow down. This is going full blast and there's been very little space to even get familiar with the characters.
