Wow! Thistle Burr appears!
Woah! Yay for Impassi holding firm and all!
Oooh, Luna having evidence which could've cut this short, and having it be inadmissible because she didn't know and stuff. Ouch!
Simple solution.
Luna does not admit to anything but gives her promise to never ever enter their dreams again.
And then she lets them have and live with the nightmares she now no longer can help them with.
There are few times I wouldn't mind seeing some proper tyranny in my pony fiction.
This is one.
Down with JAQers.
Luna, you knew this was coming. Maybe not the when it was coming, but you knew to expect it. Brushing up on the current rules for evidence was on you.
For the next generation’s test, might I suggest dictating the diary to a scribe, and having it notarised officially.
Impassi Heartstopper gets points for having the brass unmentionables to turn down half of the Diarchy. Those in the gallery that are into being dominated might be making puppy-eyes at Equestria’s toughest JILF.
Intensity was the right opener.
Holy crap.
Impassi is really going to have her work cut out ruling in such a way that Thistle doesnt end most definitely not having a most unexpected visit by most definitely not a Celestia look alike in not a remote and isolated location, especially not during a most suprising blood moon that never occured.
This is why you hire a lawyer Luna. This is 100% your fault and only your fault
I can see how Luna could have been stubborn enough to make this mistake. Let’s hope it doesn’t come back an bite her.

You mean the nightmares they spent almost their entire lives dealing with on their own anyway?
Oof; that was quite the setback. It looks like Luna is going to have to rest all of her hopes on performing a devastating cross-examination...
It's great to see you use an old original antagonist like Thistle for this. Make it feel like it's in any of your verse.
I do wonder how Luna will pull herself out of this one.
And Impassi really live up to her name, she is a fortress you can't move, even not a Princess.
So what we basically seem to have is a (within the setting) reasonably well-known conspiracy theorist who’s managed to rope a few others into supporting his latest “the government did me dirty!” claim -- mostly by dint of first of all looking for the most likely suckers. And yet without an expert on dreams and dream magic who doesn’t just so happen to also be the defendant, clearly demonstrating that the dreams he claims not to want were still simply the product of his own conspiracy-spinning subconscious is going to be tricky at best.
On the other hoof, of course, clear compelling evidence of her presumptive guilt also doesn’t seem to have been presented yet. Just a lot of hot air to the tune of “I dreamt about her and I know she could, therefore she must have...!” -- so, maybe I forgot, but what’s the rule on presumption of innocence in this particular court, again?

Allegory
Luna HAS been in court before (post pilot).
"Jury Duty II: Jury Harder" she was summoned to the Jury pool (although not chosen for a jury).
Dang. The previous case made me wonder of Heartstopper's description of Applejack was a bit more than analytical. That with some other slight phrasing I can vaguely remember makes me wonder of her opinions of strength in general.
I feel like facing of against Luna might be difficult for her on multiple levels, and the court might need an official "Hate F#$%" break at the conclusion of this trial. And possibly regularly there after.
