Twilight Sparkle is the princess of friendship in an Equestria where Daybreaker reigns supreme.
It once was a peaceful and harmonious land, or it was until Starlight Glimmer journeyed back in time and prevented Twilight and her friends from defeating Nightmare Moon. It led to the death of princess Luna, due to the elements not being to correctly purge the darkness from Luna, they later found out that Luna was princess Celestia's baby sister and things only went downhill from there.
Celestia soon after gave into her inner demons due to the grief of losing her only sister for the second time, and Daybreaker took over her body quickly turning the once peaceful Equestria into a hellish nightmare for anypony but the Canterlot elite and Twilight Sparkle.
This fic contains: Self sacrifice (sort of a suicide) and semi-graphic descriptions of a death

Depressing, but an interesting concept. Starlight doesn't get slapped around the head often with the magnitude of the harm that her petty, selfish revenge plot created, even in fanfiction.

Yeah I noticed that too, I always wondered why more stories of what happened because of Starlight's unbelievable stupidity aren't in existence and my brain decided to give me a pretty interesting dream to base this fic off of so yep. Magic bird horse go boom to destroy evil sun horse.

in the end, Starlight personally killed three of my favorite princesses and was indirectly responsible for the death of many innocent residents, but received only a verbal reprimand as punishment. (Celestia is even more sorry than anyone else because, judging by the description, she received the most painful death. And according to the dialogues, she doesn’t seem like a directly frank monster. At least I can understand her, because after everything experienced, you can easily enter into "blind anger and direct it at those who even indirectly caused suffering.)
