"It's not about why we create, but what our creations do that matters." - Unknown

Twilight Sparkle is many things, an inventor, a polymath, a noble, and a Diamond Dog. While her new life in Ponyville hasn't always been the easiest, with her friends and fellow Element Bearers she has found some measure of peace.

Peace that is about to be broken.

Canterlot calls, and with it comes a whole host of problems, both from the distant past and murky future.

Homecomings are never easy.

A Reflection-Verse story.

With many thanks to my long-suffering pre-reader and editor, Trellia. Also thanks to JP and Raleigh for idea bouncing.

Featured on 13/3/23, thank you all for reading.

"-she who ends the night, star queen, lady of light, slayer of the night devil-"
"Hey, that's my aunt!" She snapped.
The Pegasus paused and mumbled something that sounded awfully close to "Orthodox miss" before continuing in his praises to Twilight's mother.

As opposed to the Lunar Reformists, not to be confused with the Cadenzan Reformists. Oh, I can only imagine what kind of havoc Cadence wreaked on the congregation by showing up...

Wonderful bit of scene-setting and world building. Looking forward to seeing where this goes from here, especially seeing how Moondancer gets involved.

Yay, more Twlight Pupper. :pinkiehappy:

Darn it, why didn't I think of "Twilight Barkle"? XD

Twidoggo is getting more socially adept, and sneaky!

Now, I wonder why she was called to Canterlot...?

Always ready for some more Twilight Barkle :)

Woah. This time-line has not been kind to Shining Armor!

At least Kibitz is OK, and good to Twi.

Oh dear. I assume this Cadence never foalsat (well, pupsat) this Twilight. The BBBFF factor certainly never was a thing, and without that, only knowing Shining in a professional capacity...

Of course, by that logic, the city would be crawling with changelings. It could be that the two never met and Shining's saddled with a far worse spouse. I just hope she doesn't have anything to do with what happened to his throat.

In any case, good to see Twilight has some emotional support among the castle's staff. Now to see just how Luna's dealing with modern etiquette. And vice versa.

I'm hoping that Shining's divorce isn't with Cadence, but that's what you get with really well written stories!

AIEEE! It lives!

I'm happy to see a third chapter of this!

The setting is an unusual AU, with a strong sense of character and of the AU's culture, having its own voice.

Sparkle's awkward circumstances and her struggle against them, I find very sympathetic. The 'threat with some depth' hectographic message mystery she must deal with is intriguing indeed!

"Diamond Dogs varied in size more widely than Ponies - not counting Alicorns - did. At the small end of the scale, Diamond Dogs were small enough to be only moderately alarming to Ponies. Twilight Sparkle didn't spend much time dwelling on could-have-beens and never-weres, but occasionally wondered how her life experience might have differed if she hadn't been born near the other end of the scale. Oh dear. Looks like someone weaponized one of Twilight’s inventions. One she specifically didn’t put out on the market, which says something about the rationality of this anonymous figure. We’ll see how she handles this in time, but I can’t imagine she’s happy about it.
