This story is a sequel to Ocellus gets stranded
When Smolder hears of a Haukland attack on the Dragon Lands, she can't believe it. Who in their right minds would attack dragons? How can any griffon think he can defeat them?
However, she quickly finds out that the ruler of Haukland is stubborn and proud, just like dragons, and will not back down. And there are creatures on both sides pushing for war, some of them with more malicious intent then others...
As always, the story uses Equestria at War lore, but knowledge of EaW is not required to enjoy the story; it was written to be enjoyable by everyone, not just fans of the game.
Ok smolder I know you're tough don't get me wrong but there are limited that sometimes you cannot handle and that's strengthwise
Yeah me too kid
Apparently death is really been busy lately and some of the young six encounter him which that's pretty scary 😨
Hey don't be like that if you guys were not friends you would have just abandoned her and let the other one die to defend itself but you didn't
I'm sure all of you kids could you did learn from the best especially after season 9 the mid finale
I would definitely see how yona and smolder will have in common with each other they're kind of very prideful and thinking they're tough it can be good but sometimes ignorant will be there downfall
Yep it felt like this is like a thing for you kids when you want to start something fun on your summer vacation something bad happens kind of sound familiar doesn't it
Hey at least she made friends with them so despite the rocky start it was pretty worth it I guess whatever you want to call it 😅
Your
And this dude is very annoying and he's trying to instigate
If only she knew what was going on with her friends they will share the same feeling with her especially since there's summer vacation has been shot for all of them
Yep sometimes you just hate these kinds of racist comments
Oh boy I feel like he's been showing up a couple times 😰 I mean I don't blame her I'll probably be scared too
Perfect upload timing, just as I finish Silverstreams' story!
Well try to give you some some credit sandbar let's see what your day of summer vacation turned out
So at this point it's time to become a running thing right now especially for these kids so smolder wanted to make sure what was going on here especially hearing some rumors about the dragons almost got themselves killed by a griffin she was going to talk with dragon lord ember and after a couple missteps she talked with her and she was going to talk with the injured dragons they told smaller about how this Griffin almost kill them even with their strong scale which that's pretty worried some for the dragons so smolder decided to go over to the land of the Griffins called Haukland a very prideful Griffins and luckily after saying that she was the Ambassador they let her through to talk with the leader name Graf Meyer and and while the conversation was going on he kind of put the test on her and put it in jail see if she tried to escape or anything but she didn't so she gain a little respect from him so she tried to convince him to stop with the war and everything before things get ugly but before this thing goes going on another creature was coming in and his name is Hademar but he's been giving out some weird vibe like you really want to stay away from him and saying something about this whole preach about Maar which that's a little unsettling and not only that smolder still thinks she can try to convince Graf Meyer not to go to war and if he needed protection he can Ally with the other countries as well but then she needs to figure out about this Hademar so she had a plan which it's going to be very tricky so after a while Graf Meyer called Hademar that he doesn't need his assistant anymore and he wants to not do anything with him and of course he did not take it too well and he was about to kill the leader and he revealed himself that it's the same creature that Ocellus face off it was death again and he was about to make his attack while he tried to break him smolder surprised him with that attack and of course it didn't and both of them tried are hard as to stop him but he was just too strong luckily the gold sword that he forgotten pierced through the monster and he screaming pain and left again and both smolder and Graf Meyer we're pretty happy they won over that and also becoming allies so the war was ended and her friends were pretty impressed how she handled the situation but what really scares them is how death just showed up just only Ocellus and smolder and the others did not encounter him but it felt like they're going to soon because death is not done yet it looks like he's preparing for something well I got to say this was a pretty hectic one and it was a pretty good one now I wonder how sandbar's vacation went I guess that's another story keep upthe good work
I forgot something yeah if you ever went to the mirror pool that's probably how that would sound like 😅
What princess??
Bro, you really hypping me up to play all the other griffon countries. Amazin' story!

She was just trying to annoy the guard and make them act unreasonable. Trust me, Smolder understands the value of strength and the value of being smart, and of course the power of friendship on top of it.
Oh, death is very busy these days. You can probably guess that it's not the last we see of his manipulations.
Ever met people who are generally good at heart, but play tough to impress their friends? ;).
Yeah, I always saw them being best friends over their shared pride. Don't get me wrong, but Ponies, while proud of Equestria, are not really 'that' proud of it to the point of fighting others to prove it, Gallus lived in a forgotten and ruined place, Ocellus is too timid for anything, and Silverstream is similar to Sandbar in that regard.
But I can absolutely imagine Yona and Smolder sparring over 'Yaks best! No, dragons best!'. Friendly, of course, but it's a kind of friendly rivalry they can both understand and it helps them bond.
Smolder: That Tree sure likes playing with us, doesn't it...
Mane Six: (either deep in the tropical, insect-filled swamp, freezing, with hangover, or exhausted): You don't say?
Tree: <Is very happy with itself>
Count on our Students to find friends everywhere. And it helped them solve problems many, many times.
Also, typo fixed, thank you!
Yeah. Sometimes they just get under your skin, and the best part is that while Graf here is being annoying and irritating, he's not even doing this on purpose. It's just normal to him. But Smolder won't have that :).
Sandbar has massive self-esteem issues. As you will see when his chapter is posted. Fortunately, his friends are here to help.
Yep. Rainbow Dash is the best ambassador to Haukland, alongside Applejack, and she will remember these days fondly in the future... once her wings stop hurting horribly.
Thank you! I am currently writing a chapter for a different thing (juggling 4 stories to update now, this, By Starlight, one non-MLP story on AO3 and one not posted yet), but I promise to get to writing next chapter when I can.

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm happy you liked these stories so much :).
And regarding EaW: Mechanically, Haukland's campaign is hard. You have little industry, not much of an army, low ponypower, and not the best research, while your first enemy is one that you have to naval invade (but they are much weaker then you, so at least there's that). But plot-wise, it's amazing. Definitely recommended if you are good enough to power through these difficulty issues.
You should borrow Yona for a bit. She'll just throw the dummies behind all this down a hill and that'll be the end of it.
You probably picked them up from Ocellus. It certainly wasn't either of the boys at least.
See, that's what I'm talking about!
That's thinking positively all right! (EDIT: and somewhat prophetic, even. I mean, he didn't fall down some stairs, but he DID break his arm)
Besides, you haven't met Spike yet, Mr. Meyer.
Same diff.
You're also a one-trick pony, apparently, always talking about yourself. You're Death, we get it, you can stop trying to squeeze in the reminder every sentence already. I mean, who knew Death was so...egomaniacal?
Never thought about it like that, actually. Then again, I had always figured dragons weren't as easy to get so tipsy in the first place, so...
Or throw him down a hill. That seems to work too.
Hey, I liked that whole Grogar twist, personally. It wasn't often that MLP actually floored me like that, and I much rather have stories that surprise me than ones I can already guess precisely where it's going to go, y'know?

I missed this comment it seems. Well, all I can say is that you will see the Princess mentioned here in a story after Sandbar's :).
11483584
You really liked Yona's story, didn't you? Not that I mind, I'm flattered actually that you enjoyed it so much :).
Ouch. Burn.
Well, easy for us to say, we get to see him saying it multiple times. Most of the time, it's kind of hard to escape him, so he makes his monologue and the victim dies, the end. Seeing this multiple times, yeah, it can get a 'little' repetitive. And our 'friendly' god of death has some issues, as you can probably see. And you will see more of them.
... you REALLY liked Yona's story XD. Don't tempt me into making her actually throw Maar down the hill ;).
Yeah, this bit was not supposed to be critical of the Grognar/Discord plot, but it came out like that accidentally. I was also one of (it seems very few) people in the fandom who weren't mad at the reveal. I understand why a lot of people hated it, and having Mane Six fight the legendary necromancer would be fun for sure, but it was a surprising plot twist, biggest and most unexpected in MLP.
And besides, there is some charm in seeing Discord failing so bad at everything friendship-related despite all his superpowers.
11483648
And even misguided as it was, Discord did have good intentions behind it all--he just underestimated the craftiness of the villains he was working with. Were it not for that, we might have yet gotten that reformation story so many apparently wanted after all.
11483656
Yep. He was just too arrogant, which is a running theme for him (Fluttershy got him to reform despite everything he did, then Tirek defeated him easily, and then the final trio of villains did that as well). His plan had some merits, but, again. Arrogance. One thing that never changed even after he was reformed.
