X-Com fiction?! This is getting into the group comrade!
First off- I love the idea. I think this has potential. So when you read the following extremely long list of criticisms, know that I'm just trying to edge you in the right direction.
Second- You really need to work on formatting. There should be two line breaks between every paragraph or instance of dialogue, not one. The list of names is fine, though- it's not really part of the narrative, so it's fine without the breaks.
I also noticed that the majority of the soldier's names were borrowed from Call of Duty- might wanna rethink that. I can see getting inspiration from CoD for the sequence with the marines (which was really well done, by the way), but taking names wholesale isn't very good taste.
Other nitpicks-
There are some missing periods and strange line breaks here and there, but mostly just simple errors
In the list of soldiers, some of the nicknames aren't in all caps, while others are- might want to fix that.

The only name I really took from COD was Soap (a little easter egg) the rest are from my hopefully someday novel (where FAC "Frontline Assault Commando" semi) though many of thr codenames are similar
EDIT: I take that back, I forgot about Sandman, Grinch, and Truck. Another fun reference for COD players

Actually, there's also V. Reznov, and I'm pretty sure Frost, Sabre, Ice, and definitely Ghost were all codenames from Modern Warfare 2 and 3.

Also theshadowcookie on youtubes X-Com UFO Defence/Enemy Unknown LP. They are really good. And gives you some background on what may be able to happen in an X-Com mission.
