Written for Etyco Filly for Jinglemas 2022

This is also part 3 of Str8aura's Genetic Christmas. See this blog for more details.

This also also heavily draws on lore from the IDW MLP comic Nightmare Knights, which I would highly recommend to anyone. You shouldn't be too confused if you haven't read it; just know that I'm not pulling ALL of this out my ass. Only most of it.

The spirit of Hearthswarming is something all ponies enjoy, from the match girls on the street to the alternate Celestias all throughout the Multiverse.

A spiritual, Christmas themed successor to Daybreakup and Those. No knowledge of either story is required for this one.

And yes, a Daybreakup finale is still in the works.

What exactly is Jinglemas?

Man, was this fic really just barley over 1k words? It's a bonafide multi-act story. I felt that even when I was proofreading the original draft. You continue to push your stylistic boundaries with a story written fully in verse. That earns a tip of my snow-covered hat. And, if I may be bold, an outright Spike Of Distinction. :moustache:

Joy to the world. Except for the parts that are in Daybreaker's righteously vengeful crosshairs.

Hark! The giggling hellspawn scream... glory to the blazing Queen!

I like it, was a very fun read, thanks!

Only thing I'm confused about is the beginning, but I'm assuming it's because I don't have any of the lore mentioned in the description

Yeah, had to summarize a long comic in a few short sentences. sorry for that one.

It's a twisted yet joyous verse, of all things. Maybe I should've expected it, knowing what the title is, but your witty brand of writing somehow shines through in this form as well. It's also quite compact, narry a stray detail save for what adds savor flavor to the rhyme. And it's not Daybreak being stereotypically evil... her protecting the filly and giving her a Christmas gift (stretching the definitions of "gift" here), does make her a touch sympathetic. A small touch.

Anyway, this was a surprisingly poetic read, and a good one at that! Thanks for it!
