I don't care about G5 in any way; however, I read this story anyway, and it was interesting enough. Based on what I've seen of G5, I'll assume everypony has a better characterization than in the show. Regarding pregnancy, this story hit several notes I like, although I can't write that I was at all interested in what happened after the sex started, but anyone who reads this story should probably read to the end regardless.
