Among the many stories I'm tracking this is some of the ones I get excited for updates on the most.
Curious how John is having visions of guns, maybe he saw them when he was a baby before he ended up in Equestria, which only raises more questions on the circumstances that led him to the Apple's porch, perhaps his mother was fleeing from soldiers. I can't help but think about the scene in Kung Fu Panda 2 when Po remembers what happened to his village when he was a baby.

I’ll be honest dude, this chapter just took the story in a weirdly different turn. Kinda expected this story to be more slice of life, not this. I don’t know, I guess I’m just sick of seeing HiE who somehow have some hidden skill that gives them an upper hand. Nothing against your story, I’ll probably still read it, it’s just not something I expected is all.
