Vinyl Scratch is becoming a pioneer of the underground Canterlot music scene, so a "brilliant" idea from her manager sends her to Ponyville to reach even higher levels in her industry - by creating folktronica. Despite the sheer stupidity (in her opinion) of such a task, however, it isn't the only one - she must also figure out new feelings she's started to have about the pony she now pays rent to: Applejack.
But, where exactly does the line between true desires and false dreams lie?
Alright, so, I'm tired as hell. And I've got class in roughly seven hours.
But, basically, this story is derived from a compilation of short stories about weird shipping couples I had planned to do, but never got around to. Miraculously, I got around to doing a full story for this one. Don't ask me how or why.
Originally, I liked the term Vinyljack - that phrase alone is what started this - but, I do enjoy AppleScratch. Yes, I'm not kidding - bizarre combo, right?
I'll add character tags as this goes along and I develop it (if it even goes anywhere), and, I'm rolling with my image I made up shortly before this thing got officially posted. It may be a representation of Applejack surrounded by the flow of Vinyl, but, honestly - it's a silhouette with fancy lines. MS Paint ftw.
I don't usually leave notes like this.
Cheers,
A. Tuesday
Don't know why you haven't gotten any comments yet; I like it so far. Keep up the good work.
vas ist das? an applexvinyl fic? this is a pairing that i have never seen before. like, i've seen quite a few unusual pairings, but never this one. my interest is piqued. consider this fic tracked.
I put on tunng to read this
I really like it so far. It's a strange pairing, but a really interesting one. And the prologue definitely made me interested to see where the story goes from here.
If you see the story get updated today, it really isn't - I'm simply making adjustments to the story before I send it to Ponychan's /fic/ board for editting. I'm tryin' to go for EqD with this one.
I really liked the premise of the story, but not all characters feel completely in-character to me. It still entertained me a lot, even tough I hoped for more record studio sheenigans, either trough AJ going to the big city, or Vinyl attempting to set up recording equipment in Applejacks barn or something for a demo and ahving lots of trouble getting a clean sound.
