It's rare to see a story about daybreaker in her not being a dictator or a completely evil. But hopefully she doesn't become completely good a new creature in an old world is going to be a pretty interesting story

Lots of scene extensions compared to the initial draft, with more note-passing happening between the protagonist's halves and the conversation with the tailor being a tad longer. The readers are here to see Daybreaker strut her stuff, so big ups for taking the time to establish and explore the monster mare's personality. The back-and-forth jumps between convos feel appropriate. Its been an eventful first day for our antiheroine, so fresh memories and experiences are jumbled and overlapping.
The biggest departure from the original draft is, glaringly, Daybreaker creating a new body separate from Celestia's. None of that Karma / Discentia balancing act here. I'm sure this choice will have a plot payoff later. True independence for Daybreaker means she's fully responsible for her actions now. Both unselfish and unsavory. Hyped to see what she does with herself.
Bit of a flub there unless these are actually two different seamstresses. Aside from that, a fascinating exploration into the question of Daybreaker, and of alicorns' dark sides in general. Thank you for it.

the new pimped out bod was entirely a result of timing issues- I couldn't figure out how Daybreaker went to a dress shop in the middle of the night, or how she could wait til morning for it to open. Eventually I bit the bullet, but I think it makes for a much more freeing opportunity anyway. Allowed me to whip up that spiffy new bedroom scene anyways.
Huh, now this is interesting! A little rough around the edges, but I'm a sucker for Angery Rapidash. Tracking!

I love this. Daybreaker rejects imperialism. No amount of dehumanizing makes someone less than a person.
Now I'm wondering how much of the new currency is colorized.
Celestia held back a comment about Cloudsdale. It would be horribly rude to undermine a ruler in her own court.
Precisely how ponies knew of Lassie was a matter best left unconsidered.
Thankfully, Twilight's working on that... though the only sign of Diamond Dogs post-timeskip is an ongoing diplomatic issue.
Still, outstanding follow-up to the first chapter. Wonderful to see Daybreaker synthesize her intrinsic nature and Celestia's influence into her own take on stewardship. (Not rule. Not as far as she's concerned.) Thank you for it.
