This story is far more entertaining than it's premise should allow.

I put that down to the sanity swap occuring between Pinkie Pie and Applejack.

Also, if there was anything Applejack would get crazy about, it makes perfect sense that it would be her hat.

I like to think that ever since the Mane 6 became the Mane 6, there are incredibly sobering times for Pinkie when she thinks to herself, "wow I'm not the looniest one out of us all," and quietly digests the information since she never knows how to deal with the fact whenever faced with it every time she looks upon whatever shenanigans her friends are dragged into/are the cause of.
