This story was inspired by eemoo1o's "A Flash In The Pan," and can optionally be read as an unofficial and NON-canon (but authorized!) sequel to that story.

I guess you don't HAVE to read the prequel, but it does provide some very relevant backstory, especially about the general apathy, and most importantly the ballpoint pens. Do you really want to miss out on all that foreshadowing? I don't think so!

"Hate stories" is such a vague phrase.
Are you referring to hatred against Wallflower, or hatred of a story for which someone lovingly writes a fanfic, or what exactly?
Personally, If I don't enjoy a lot about a story, I don't want to write a fanfic for it. That's how it seems to work out for me, at least. I'm glad that eemoo1o seems to understand my point of view.
I just wanted more.
I also don't hate Wallflower Blush, either, or I wouldn't bother to write the variety of stories about her that I do.

The truth is, I'm not really very interested in torturing a character just to torture a character, or to '(over?)punish someone who deserves it' in the world of...fiction.
I thought my story was an interesting possible answer to a mystery, and I thought the somewhat ambiguous outcome was interesting too.
On a related note, I hear eemoo1o, who authorized my non-canon fanfic sequel ahead of time, might be coming out with a canon sequel soon.

I get that you don't, but this story has already made two more that do only care about it.
I do not know what the original author intended, probably this considering they gave you the okay. But the original story definitely didn't include Wallflower or a punishable victim till you came around. It went from thrilling mystery to hate-story thanks to this one.

As the author of Newton's Law I received permission from both Eemoo1o and mockingbirb to create a non-canon sequel. I enjoyed both fics, Eemoo1os is the more serious, sombre piece whilst Mockingbirbs is a tad surreal and wacky (yet still with that horror edge).
Since my fic is a direct sequel to Mockingbirbs I'm attempting to tie my more serious style with his wackier style. Nonetheless Wallflower commits several heinous acts in Mockingbirbs fic, just out of spite. Including murder and slavery whilst justifying it on the shakiest grounds accordingly, like all villains , she gets her comeuppance. A tad cruel perhaps, but her crimes are equally awful. Whilst I extenuate them in my work, it's only because when she's reached the level in Mockingbirbs fic she's no excuse not to commit 'lesser' ones.
As for Wallflower herself? I rather like her as a character, she's fun, has a neat design and the memory stone is a fun tool. Plus she's just a blank enough slate that you can do alot of work with her. I intend to do some more positive stories featuring her in the future, including a one shot in my "Infinite Shards" crossover series.
