This story takes place during season 6 after "Gauntlet of Fire" before 'No Second Prance's' for obvious reasons. Also, the season five finale, the season five episode 'Party Pooped', The season six two-parter, 'The Crystalling,' and the rest of season six onward are not canon to this AU.
When the call of the Cutie Map beckons our heroes to embark on a life-altering quest, they find themselves traversing the perilous Crystal Mountains. Twilight and her steadfast companions brave the trials of uncharted territories beyond Equestria's borders to confront the enigmatic friendship problem marked by the Cutie Map, nestled in the distant Kingdom of Yakyakistan. But simplicity is a luxury they can ill afford, for Starlight Glimmer weaves a vengeful web, rallying her allies as she shadows Twilight Sparkle across the breadth of Equestria.

Ok so, opinion so far after reading chapter 1:
You are a wonderfully descriptive writing. Those two first paragraphs: unf. Pure eye candy.
From what I've gathered so far, the story takes place in an alternate season 5 after the defeat of Starlight correct? Either way I'm deeply loving this and will continue reading. It's pretty vibe right now.
Ok, chapter two so far. I love the character interactions between everyone. They are honestly really close to how they act in the show. I'm loving it.
Something I am most certainly guilty of is kinda side lining the main 6 in favor of Spike, Twilight and other side characters, which is probably something I should avoid and try to fix. To see someone who manages to perfectly manage all 6 of them and have them act so close to their canon selves is honestly pretty inspiring lol
Oh, the interaction between Trixie and Starlight was just... Mwuah. Ist gut.
Good to see the call forwards to the episode where the two actually do go to Saddle Arabia. Pretty funny.

Have to agree with the previous commenter. This chapter's dialogue is a little hard to follow, especially cause sometimes you start a character's speech in one paragraph and then finish it in another. And sometimes it seems that the characters are reacting to one another paragraph by paragraph if that makes any sense.
Still, I did like this chapter. I quite like it.

It was a bit of a clusterfuck because me and my co-author roleplay and then edit the roleplay. This chapter went through two rewrites, and we're still not entirely happy with it. But we quickly fixed that issue in the following chapters.

Well looks like their journey begins on the train their way to the yak yakistan which the Yaks haven't seen other ponies for a thousands of years so this is going to be a new change for those yaks and something tells me Twilight and the others need to get their a game on when it comes to those guys when it comes to Old cultures but literally they don't know Starlight is right behind them again planning on getting even with them even making them disappeared which we already know what that means but she can't do this by herself so it looks like she's going to find a couple of ponies and creatures to help her case which yikes
Well so far this is an easy visit so far and it looks like everybody really want to check out the Crystal Empire after it came back which I've always wanted to check out more and Rarity really wants to help Applejack to give her a new look since she gave her hat to Apple Bloom and the others really want to check it out and Spike really is popular here to the crystal ponies which that's pretty awesome well Twilight and Fluttershy are on the way to talk with Shining Armor and Cadence I wonder what they're going to talk about

Starlight is really close to Twilight in the others but of course she may be a powerful unicorn but there's times that there is limitation she only has when you go against not just Twilight but also Shining Armor and Princess Cadence so she stay hidden for now and she was going to look for something to eat until she saw a performance and of course it was the great and powerful Trixie figures that she showed up and it looks like her performance is pretty average but other than that pretty interesting but of course Trixie wasn't fooled no into the fact that Starlight was up to something I wonder what they're going to do

So it looks like Twilight and Fluttershy made it to the castle but just only Twilight meeting with them and they were pretty happy to see her especially even despite that things are kind of crazy lately she even told him about the whole situation about her castle being destroyed and almost got herself killed by Starlight glimmer and hopefully the name will get out there and stop her and Shining Armor and Cadence were pretty worried about her especially with a unicorn with that kind of strength they should be on the lookout for her and they even talk about a rumor about a changeling which we already know who that is roaming around and apparently even King sombra's Horn is still in the mountains after being blasted away and making everybody so worried about it well at least they have a pretty good conversation and hopefully things will go very well and apparently Fluttershy got lost and I wonder who did she see
Yeah even that's kind of dumb why would you put fireworks inside of a building knowing to the fact that something will caught on fire that happened a couple of times which people got killed for that

Well then things really escalated so quickly and apparently the owner of this bar was not to please about Trixie's stunts and everything especially bringing Starlight around just to Swindle him and Trixie was insulted and apparently we're not going to get paid so out of desperation she went to the bathroom leaving Starlight to deal with him but she's trying to control her anger not to go crazy on him so she rocked out and noticing Trixie stealing the money and starlight try to tell her to steal more instead of just half and Trixie was about to say something until the boss came and saw what they were doing and called for a security but Starlight wouldn't go down like that song she decided to do what she has to do she freeze the guy and knocked out the others and Trixie was about to make a hasty retreat but Starlight got her and stunned her and leave her to deal with the law but then Trixie basically told Starlight about her backstory of this whole situation with Twilight and her friends and somehow Starlight actually felt bad for her so she got rid of the stun spell and give the money to her but somehow Trixie was pretty interested about her backstory as well and she did admit it so they had to get out of town but of course Trixie had to open her big mouth to almost everybody in the bar you are so close Trixie
Hey there. Thanks very much for sharing this series with us. It took a while, but I think I skimmed enough to be reasonably up to speed. Anyway, you have been doing a great job on the dialogue, action, characterizations (in this story AND the previous main story) and future chapter set-up.
Definitely liked how you've been setting up Starlight getting acquainted with Trixie and Thorax (as well as Trixie being the one to figure out how to keep Thorax fed) in addition to Luna's chat with Starlight inside the latter's mind AND Twilight's reasoning for giving Starlight a chance even if not yet fully trusting her (acknowledging that Starlight had a pretty clear shot at her when they were caught in that avalanche but didn't take it.
Really looking forward to more of this.
