The idea of doing a story around Spike or rather, Barbara or Barb for short.
It is interesting that an "incest" is involved, since although Barb is adopted, he is not exactly a blood brother and we could not count it as incest, but, understandable.
In addition to that, I like the fact that you make Shining Armor a sex machine, considering that Cadence is an alicorn and the princess of love, I think you could have given Shining Armor a little more level.

Wishful thinking, sadly. Though I did pick my avatar from one of DarkGal's stories (second one, I believe), 'cause I liked the picture and the story they used it for. In fact, DarkGal and some others have inspired me to write more seriously and influenced me heavily.
Been writing privately with Towan for some time, but I've been lurking on fimfiction before that. Its been his suggestion to start being more active here, currently through collabs with him. I've been involved with the Breakin In stories, for example.
This story is my first big project. Though, Towan is holding the reigns here, which is why he is publishing it.

Shining in this story is very much a protagonist. However, that doesn't mean he is good guy.
We are trying to ensure that things stay consensual, but him being a sexist jerk is absolutely intended. If it helps, that stance is nothing extraordinary in this setting and has less of an impact in Equestrian society, due to it being so female-dominated.
Shining does have standards, though. He isn't physically abusive and he doesn't enjoy it when ponies suffer. He is selfish, not sadistic. If a mare doesn't enjoy sex with him, he doesn't like it either. Although, if you were to ask him, he would likely just say its a "turn-off", rather than any moral objections.

It honestly feels like there is a lack of information regarding wether keeping it contained or releasing it would be better.
If it only enhance what is already there plus their outside appearances then releasing it could be the better option rather than letting it build up? After all if it’s strong enough to change the environment around them then what’s to say that keeping it under pressure won’t make things worse? Or trigger some chain reaction that makes the area bigger than it would had been if left alone?
This is all under the assumption that the castle wards would eventually fail even if everything was done perfectly but again we have no way of knowing which one it is… Maybe it COULD be contained and they would be the only victims but who can say at this point?
