Spike can't wait to read the hottest new horror book on the market: Insomnia: Realm of Nightmares, and he's beyond ecstatic to finally get the chance, only to have his hopes dashed when Twilight tells him no. Now embittered and mad, he goes behind her back and finds a way to read the book without her knowing. But, as he would soon find out, Twilight was right when she took it away, for now, he starts seeing all kinds of horrible things brought on by what he saw in those pages. As his fears get the best of him and he begins to see things that aren't there, he'll have to face the consequences as his fears come to life and as his world devolves into a nightmare.
