Whoever came up with the idea that removing the ratings was a good thing, I hope they get fired from whatever job they get and that they never have a stable life.

Unfortunately, most people don't use ratings correctly, and instead downvote every last fic I write based on one they disliked. People are free to comment still, and the popularity of a fic should be clear by number of views.
