Tangentially related to Raining. (though that story knowledge is not necessarily needed) and inspired by Steam Powered Giraffe’s Honeybee.

Sometimes you meet somepony, and they change your entire world. Sometimes, you’re the one doing the changing, but usually you meet them in the same way.

You meet by chance.

While it was true that honeybees were skittish, playful, and necessary… they were also incredibly fragile. Honeybee simply couldn’t take living in her environment anymore.

This sentence sticks with me. It is true, there's always one line to remember in a good story. You've made a great one.

Some of the metaphors I pulled off here might’ve been a bit of a stretch, but that was one of those ‘story’s leading up to this’ lines. I was happy with that one.

“I’m just scared of what my parents will think. What happens when they learn their stallion is a mare?” Honeybee was dejected, panicked, worried about her quality of life. She wanted to live on her terms, but she knew she very well couldn’t. Not as long as her parents still believed in words that were never spoken.

Such a powerful sentence, and a sad reality for a lot.

This is such a powerful story. I can't think of anything to say about it except well done.

Very nicely done. Some folks tend to kinda go big with the drama, but this one uses the imagery to tell what is happening that we already know from when the word "religion" appears. I enjoyed this little trip, even though it was a sad one. And the song it's based on is a legit banger. Thanks for sharing.

Interesting story

Interesting factoid time. Honeybees really aren't necessary. They don't serve any purpose other than making honey. They were imported by weak Europeans to the new world because they didn't want to give up their sweets.

The whole honeybee population could be wiped out of existence and life would continue on without them. North America was green and blooming long before honeybees ever came across the ocean. And with all the pollinating insects still about it'll stay green and blooming long after they've gone extinct.

This story made me cry so hard. Honeybee was a song I once performed in front of my entire school, and when one of the members of SPG came out, it inspired me to do the same. Beautifully written, instant fave, follow, everything I can possibly do lmao
