The story seems like it peaked in chapter 2 and then got stuck spinning its tires afterwards, because all that really happens is they start to kiss, and kiss some more. I generally recommend that, for every non-comedic chapter, there be some kind of critical change in the plot, like a character goes from one state to another, or a new element is introduced; if nothing changes over a chapter, it might as well have not happened.

I'm afraid not, because I've already written about what happened to poor Scootaloo and even completed the story... It was in actuality, a metaphor on how I felt about my mother's death and things get intense in chapter 6: Intermission...

Anyway, the primary focus of this story, was Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle's relationship and how it blooms. The adventure is just the things they face and before the next section, I needed the two lovers a bit closer. AB was still hesitant on a number of things and in order to get her to open her petals, SB needed to be more aggressive...

In season 7, episode 20, it's what Zecora had. It was going to turn her into a tree, but Fluttershy figured out how to cure it first... Anyway, in the original story, (The Ghost of Chicken Scootaloo) Apple Bloom took the place of my mother and died a horrible death of swamp fever. (Instead of cancer.) It was a therapy project, where Scootaloo talks about the trauma she went through. It's implied that she drank herself to death, much like I was intending to do once upon a time...
