I'd have to say the lovingness of it all. Yes, they're dom and sub, but Rarity loves Applejack to death. If she gives the word or signal, like she did here, she's going to stop. Which is how that works, given that, from my understanding, that is rather the point of a safety net.

Makes sense. From my admittedly academic understanding, the sub is the only truly in control. If they give the word or signal, the scene stops first, THEN both parties can discuss why why the safety net was deployed. Because if you ignore the safety net, then what's the point of having one?
