Fantastic. <3 Great ending and great buildup to it with all the visions Luna was having.
I was expecting this to have either a gridmark ending or an ending where Luna committed suicide, but I'm glad that that isn't what happened.
The buildup was great. It was powerful and frankly I was a bit unnerved at times reading about what Nightmare Moon was making Luna hallucinate, especially the part when she was in the bathroom and saw the unicorn horn and the mutilated body of Twilight Sparkle.
The ending kind of disappointed me to be honest. After all that build up, it ends with a speech... :/ After everything Nightmare Moon showed she was capable of doing she goes out with something as anticlimactic as that. I feel that could have been made longer, either with a battle ensuing or with Nightmare Moon retorting back as a sort of final stand to try and take over Luna, maybe another onslaught of gore hallucinations or memory manipulation, I don't know.
Overall the story was really well done and lives up to it's title. This really was a great take on the possible struggle that Luna is going through/has gone through dealing with her inner darker self after coming back from a 1000 year banishment on the Moon. I really felt for Luna as well as Celestia. Luna having to deal with her sanity slipping, thinking that Celestia is trying to get rid of her because of the incident with Nightmare Moon and Celestia being faced with losing her sister yet again and only after such a short time of getting her back after a 1000 year banishment. There's nothing worse than the feeling of family betraying you and the feeling of abandonment that Luna was experiencing.
4.7/5. Again the ending kinda disappointed me.
