Tirek, after being defeated by Twilight Sparkle and her friends, finds himself in a world that is different from the one he is used to, trapped in a body that is unfamiliar to him, and discovers that there are all sorts of powerful beings seeking to carve their own desires out of the world around them. As one of the 'Tarnished' he must rise to the occasion and overcome the challenges that stand in his way, to become the 'Elden Lord', or perish and allow his name to be forgotten.

11443308 It's definitely a possibility, as we're too early in the game to tell where he might do and what he'll do. Besides, many people fall for Ranni in the end, as I've seen lots of gamers fall for her when they meet her, and Tirek is no exception.
Are there certain places Tirek will not go? All of Caelid, the Weeping Peninsula, Mt. Gelmir, the Consecrated Snowfield, and Miquella's Haligtree are all optional locations if he follows the standard first-play route. Will he visit any of them?
11445828 Oh, he'll be visiting every province of the game. I know that some people either skipped out on or just plain missed things during their first time playing the game... I, on the other hand, tackled everything my first time through, and second, and even third. Tirek will be experiencing everything!

Flying Dragon Agheel is tough the first time you fight him if you aren't skilled with horse combat yet. It's not surprising he died.
If you want Tirek to aquire better spells without him traversing Stormveil Castle or Caelid, there is the Royal House Scroll southeast of Lake Agheel. Sorceress Sellen can be found in the basement of the Waypoint Ruins. Several locations in the Weeping Peninsula. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can take the Siofra River Well into the Siofra River.
11450104 Yeah, Sellen is the only way to get more spells at this point in time, at least for someone focusing on just sorcery. Also, Siofra River Well? I mean, he'll go there at some point, but at his current power they'll kill him in no time.
Yeah, the Sellia Crystal Tunnel is extremely dangerous at the beginning of the game. Not surprised he got one-shot.
He is close to Sellia, Town of Sorcery. He could find some useful spells there. Also, there are a few key talismans I would recommend Tirek find. They are the Stargazer Heirloom that raises Intelligence, the Graven School and Graven Mass talismans which increase the potency of sorceries, the Radagon Icon which lowers spell casting time, and the Ancestral Spirit's Horn which restores FP when an enemy is defeated. These are all end-game talismans, but they are potent.
