A world class assassin, transported to Equestria saves the city from Tempest Shadow's invasion, only to find that there's a much bigger plot looming over the horizon, and only the Storm King's commander can help him stop it.
11372446 To answer that as simply as I can, I just didn't really feel like telling a story about all of those villains, I really just wanted to focus on Tempest and John. Now, a prequel might be something worth looking at in the future, but I just didn't feel very inspired to write him fighting all those other villains to get to this point.
11372644 Depends, I’d think. I’m by no means a gun expert, but to the best of my understanding shot spreads out (which is the whole idea behind it when hunting, after all), so Tempest could have been hit as well, and an actual solid slug would probably be overkill against most anything less resistant than a Terminator at within-the-same-room distances.
Plus, in a sense the simple clean headshot helps highlight the difference between Merkle and John -- the amateur wastes his time gloating instead of striking and pays for it, while the professional just slips in a single line and pulls the trigger in basically the same breath. (Could possibly just have fired without saying anything at all, but without his POV that’s hard to judge.)
11372742 John shot Merkle with a handgun, not a shotgun. He's using hollowpoints, so the bullet expands, but is very unlikely to fragment and hit Tempest, especially at that close of a range. Plus, from the angle I'd envisioned here, Tempest is to John's left and Merkle is to his right, so there really isn't any chance at all that he could hit her, even on accident. As for the one liner, John could have just shot and said nothing, but I couldn't help myself and added it in lol.
11372878 Well, that a handgun would do perfectly well was kind of my whole point. Also a lot easier to hide under one’s pillow and ready while any intruder may still think one is asleep, I’d imagine, so...yeah.
(As for the one-liner, I figured John might have felt he didn’t have a clear field of fire yet and so said something specifically to startle the two into resolving that for him, but as I said...hard to judge when the whole scene is solely from Tempest’s POV.)
11372644 Easier to have a suppressor on the end of a handgun than a shotgun. The muzzle report is still going to be loud as fuck, especially in a confined area like a hotel room, but it'll at least be below the threshold of causing physical damage.
Aren't suppressors made to make gunshots much more "quieter", than making the impact "bigger and devastating" ( Like blowing up this bastard's head like a watermelon for example. ).
Look, it seems you misread on what I'm saying, and what I want.
I never even said I wanted to make the gunshot more "silent/suppressed". I wanted a much bigger impact than just a simple quick death of a bullet hole to the head. This Merkle a-hole deserves a much worse and bloody death than just a simple shot to the head. In my opinion at least.
That's why I prefer a pointblank shot of a shotgun shell/buckshot to blow his entire frickin stupid face/head off.
Nobody insults and poorly underestimates John Wick, threatened Tempest, and killed some innocent pony guards. And getting away with just a quick death of a regular headshot?
No, I don't swing that way. I would at least make a much violent and bloody death for him for his evil acts.
John shot the bastard, didn't he?

Well duh! That moron had it coming. Although, I prefer a shotgun shell to blow his entire face or blow his head off like a watermelon.
