Vindicar

"Did you hear that? That creep of a princess, Luna, had snapped, packed up, and left Equestria! Good riddance, I say! We will be better off without her." Or so we thought, at least.

Since a few people on and off-site pointed out that story is not very readable being spaced out like that, I had decided to collapse it into one chapter. My apologies for any inconvenience caused by this, I'm still figuring it all out. :twilightsheepish:

It definitely needs a sequel considering it sounds like Luna loudly quit and without her to keep the moon on track it never set and now everyone is wanting things to go back to the way they were. And one pony is going to find her and be there for her.

Ooooh, I love this twist on NMM and her revenge.

Good concept. You don't know what you got til it's gone. 🌙💫

very interesting concept. there was a book with a side story of a race of aliens that came up on a world in a nebula so dense that all they could see was their star and nothing else. They built inwards but the certainty that the universe is just a solar system sized hole in the endless dense blackness drove them to ruinous wars, only one kingdom avoided it by building a space that was outside time, and when the war ravaged the planet again they retreated to there, and emerged to an empty world, but in the end the same angst would overtake them and the world became engulfed in war. Eventually after several times over they emerged not onto an empty but alive world, but a barren wasteland, their star once proud in the sky, a dim burned out husk. they ran out of time, and to them the universe was dying, they couldn't know there was anything outside their universe.

its not the moon, its the stars. all they see at night is the empty darkness

I’m highly curious as to how this is resolved, if it is at all.

Well, I've not written the resolution, but...
Since Luna still allows ponies to dream every now and then (if only to remind them of what they lost), she can gauge their mental state remotely. So if she is actually interested in returning once she feels she has made her point, she has all the means to do so - even without resorting to things like walking the Equestria pretending to be a regular pony.
The big question is to what extent she is just done with the ponykind.
