Oddly enough, I tried to make Discord likable here and make it known that he cares about his friends so he didn’t want Starlight and Spike to get involved in something if they didn’t have to.

It comes off as Discord screwing with others to prop up the Mane 6 honestly.
Given how his Grogar plan will essentially sabotaged the sisters' reputations to boost Twilight.
It comes off as Discord screwing his friends(Spike, Starlight) over since they aren't Element Bearers. Like he sees they are not supposed to be heroes.
Really comes off as Discord screwed Spike since Spike is blocked from being part of the girls' bond.
At least Spike and Starlight avoided being mind-controlled.

Perhaps it would’ve been better as a multi-chapter fic but I didn’t really see how Starlight and Spike would change anything if Discord got them involved so I settled for a one-shot. Also why are we getting dislikes, I don’t think we did anything wrong.

But that would destroy the point of the story. The point of the story was for Starlight and Spike to avoid being brainwashed and for Starlight to save Spike, showing that they do indeed care about each other.
