You know what I would like to see explored in this setup? A more problematic relationship. Like, characters that aren't fond of each other, or maybe characters who have trouble expressing that said of themselves, or show a vulnerable side. So a combination like Zephyr Breeze and Lightning Dust, the former of which has a single-minded crush on Rainbow who thinks he's a shiftless loser while the latter has a bit of a one-sided rivalry and thinks she's as good as Rainbow but got screwed over. What this sort of place, this isolation and the poison water does to them.
Kinda surprised nopony thought about using an empty water bottle to get a sample of said 'overclocked water' for a certain bookworm Alicorn whom would, no doubt, be very interested in "water from outside the world". Though she'd have to keep somepony from thinking of drinking it.

I would love to see what you do with it. So far, the two setups dealt with pretty harmonious groups, so a variation where the group struggles internally could make for a nice contrast. Like the example given of Zephyr, Lightning Dust, and why not Marble Pie who struggles to express herself at all, especially in the face of two more forceful ponies. Or Snips, Diamond Tiara, and Scootaloo. Groups that may need to pull themselves together first at all, where new and old interpersonal conflicts come into play in addition to the new surroundings.
