MoscowNights

T

This beautiful morning, Twilight woke up in a cold sweat. She had a strange dream. The mare, no different from her, walked among the ancient buildings of stone and steel, above which towering majestic pyramids of ziggurat. A quiet voice whispered to her something in a strange adverb, and a golden staff with the top in the shape of a rounded cross, that she was holding in her hooves, gleaming in the fires of the gigantic roasts, with which the ponies in antique garments huddled together...

Welcome to a strange land inspired by the culture of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, where cruelty is the guarantee of survival, and the creatures of ancient legends are waiting both in the endless dunes and in the flowering gardens.

Well, this was a very interesting read. I'm reminded of some of Lovecraft's short stories about people having weird dreams and visions. I appreciate the slow descent into madness approach, and feel that it was well-paced. My only complaints would be that you had some odd word choice occasionally, sometimes just using the wrong word entirely, which resulted in some odd dialogue and narration. Also, the frequent lavender unicorn syndrome was a bit distracting.
