I guess there were many things going on with Shining Armor during this whole affair as well. I wrote him off as a douche-bag when I read Forbidden Fruit, but now I can kind of sympathize with his anger, or at least see where he's coming from.

A good introduction for a side story, focusing on Shining Armor's side of the story as well as showing us that things weren't as it seem. Once again like your main story i'll be looking forward as this story continues. Hope things turns out well to your liking.

This is way too confusing. I can't imagine shining armor just lunging "out" of one relationship into another. It's not clear that he knows anything for certain, and it seems like he really ought to question whether his present feelings are: real, a backlash from chrysalis' spell, or simply because his marriage isn't going well. I think he needs to hear Cadence out on this, maybe have a chat with someone else than his family (Luna, maybe?) and apologize to his former fiancee at least so he doesn't feel so bad about the results. Rushing out to give back all the gifts makes no sense if he's not actually divorced. Also, it seems a bit out of character for Celestia to be sending him a bill for the wedding. This is Equestria after all, not England or some real world monarchy.
There's some to be some potential for a fairly interesting story so far.
Maybe I misunderstood somewhere. Where did this story split from canon? Was there a changeling involved here or not?

2863247 i'm going to be honest with you. The Forbidden Fruit universe was supposed to be Cadence's story and honestly Shining Armor was portrayed as a prude in her version. So I made this one to even things out but things got complicated trying to follow along with its sister story that it did not measure up to expectations. Cadence's side was all lovey-dovey and moaning crap while Shining Armor was trying to get his life back on track.
Strange how some people are taking interest in this story now of all times.
God, I feel so bad for Shining Armor.
But I kind of don't blame him for lashing out at Big Macintosh, he was with Cadence at the time

After reading the last few chapters, it reminded me of this theory my friend had that Cadence only married Shining Armor for appearances and put a spell on him to force him to love her
